lol, sorry about that. I get a lot of PMs and don't get around to responding to them all right away. But yeah, religion is one thing I definitely want to stay away from with the blog. Far too polarizing and not really something that would be able to tie back to Ohio specifically.

I fail to see what god has to do with benefitting from doing good things. I do good things because I'm a good person and it makes me feel good when I help others out. Common sense dictates what is good and bad. I personally don't need someone telling me the difference between the two.

areyoukiddingme, do you have kids? If so how old? Do tell them there is such a thing as Santa, The Toothfairy, The Easter Bunny? Have they asked about where babies come from? If so what did you tell them.

Iliketurtles, I have no problem replying if questions are sincere and I feel as if yours is. I have 3 kids. Only 1 old enough to even think about Santa, toothfairy, etc. We play with those traditions as well, but we also teach them that the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus' birth, Easter - His death, etc. and so forth. Our 8-year old son enjoy(ed) believing in Santa, until he just found out...and the other traditions, but he also can tell you what he believes each season is about.

We don't force religion down his throat, but we do provide the basics of our faith for him to learn about and hopefully examine and determine if he accepts those beliefs as his own when he gets old enough to decide. Faith is a personal reaction to what life experiences are presented. I can't make you, or my own kids, believe in what I have experienced. Therefore, I only share from my life and what I believe is true.

I also believed in Christianity, with doubts throughout the years, but it wasn't until I went to Israel and Jerusalem a few years ago that a lot of it made sense. Do I believe some of the stories in the Bible are hard to believe? Absolutely, but the morals behind the stories speak louder.

justin - I respect that decision; however, religion is a very popular topic in every state, country and so forth! It's one of the most highly argued topic among people today (kind of sad to say).

As for your other comments - where does that good come from? And, how do you know it's "good." Good has to be defined somewhere, doesn't it? Good by your standards or a higher being's? ;)

It's something we've experienced. You can't tell someone how they feel is wrong. That would be just as hypocritical as me telling you that what you feel is wrong.
I'm not telling them they are wrong. But I do SMH when something happens and all they do is pray, expecting everything to fix itself. My comment was more a rebuttal to the one I quoted.

oh god here we go again. Some religious wacko that get's their panties in a bunch when religion is bashed. Listen, you believe your own thing. If you want to believe some magical god offers you comfort and peace at times of frustration then all the more power to you. If we want to believe you live your life based on doing good for others, not because some god commands you to do so, then we will. It doesn't take a higher being for a human being to look at a 90 year old woman and help her out. That comes from understanding the situation and being a good person. As for your religion blog idea, no one gives a flying shit what you have to say about it so obviously it's not a good idea.

DeyDurkie - Obviously, people do care or they wouldn't be responding (example: look in the mirror).

And, if you look at this entire conversation, it wasn't the "religious whacko" that got panties in a bunch. It was a non-religious person who got their panties in a bunch that a little, innocent kid decided to mimmick what he's seen in his own life.

Why is it that if a religious person replies, we are the ones with our panties in a bunch, but you don't jump on the person who posted the original topic.

I call myself a Christian, but like many others, I have many faults - I don't claim to be perfect, have all the answers, or think that someone should believe or feel the same as I do. Unlike you, who thinks that just because I have different beliefs than you that I shouldn't have a voice.

If you read what I put, I said believe what you want and do whatever you want. But for the purpose of a blog, no one would give two shits what you have to say on here. They just stated their opinions, and you came on here bashing them for it. Nice try though, "christian"

See, just because you don't give 2 *#@% what someone says doesn't mean you speak for the entire world. People give more care about religion than hunting. - just sayin.

And, I didn't come on here bashing them. I simply said they should find something better than coming on and bashing a 4-year old kid.

Somewhere, a line of morality must be determined with a Source for that line.

You say helping an old lady with her groceries is good? Says who? Deep down inside, it may be scaring that old lady because she doesn't know who that stranger is. There are so many catch - 22's and honestly, not worth arguing over.

The bottom line is this....people need to stop badmouthing kids/parents/etc. for teaching them what they believe in. It's NONE of their business. If you want to teach your kid that there is NO God, that's your business. So, would these people on here who criticize everyone for everything please just respect others and their freedoms to live life the way they seem fit?
Take an ethics class and you'll have the answer to a lot of your questions and it doesn't have anything to do with god.

Not very hilarious since the kid's name is Kanon, not Damian. His father's name is Damon Tipton. There is no Damian.
