The Tillman Story

Benny The JetProbably a little late on this, but am just now watching The Tillman Story on Showtime right now. Didn't realize HOW deep the cover up was and all that went on in the whole situation. Anyone else seen this? What did you think?

Curly JI watched it the other night. Pretty amazing show.
-
SportsAndLadyI watched it too and meant to make a thread..shit was crazy! I didn't realize how big of a cover up this was.
Using a person's death as propaganda to support a war is crazy. -
dwccrewI watched it Saturday night but was pretty drunk at the time. I need to watch it sober so I can follow it better. It is appalling, not shocking though, that our military/government would use the death of a well known soldier as propoganda. It is even more disgusting that they would bold face lie about his death (the nature of it).

Benny The JetAlso made me wonder how much of this type of stuff really goes on
-
Steel Valley FootballI just watched it also and thought it was good. I remember when it happened there was a rumor going around tha Tillman was being a daredevil and out of control when he died. I wonder how that came about.

Probably mis-information put out by the military. The more rumors there is, the harder it is to find the real story. This could possibly have been their reasoning.Steel Valley Football;877208 wrote:I just watched it also and thought it was good. Serious...I know he died....but I know nothing of the events surrounding or the cover up.Benny The Jet;878895 wrote:Sarcasm or serious?
EDIT: Just googled it -
Benny The JetAh alright sorry, couldn't tell. As you probably read, it was about the different accounts of his death, and how the Tillman family believed the government tried to essentially twist it and use his death as war propaganda. A lot of lies and paperwork seem to prove it may have gone all the way up the ranks.

I doubt it will be available on VOD if you don't have Showtime already. It is a Showtime documentary, so I believe you have to be a Showtime subscriber.vball10set;878532 wrote:I don't get Showtime, so I'll have to see if it's on Buckeye Cable's VOD or PPV...I'd like to see it -
TiernanWatched it for first time last night. Have to admit it was very disapointing to see how the Govt / Military tried to use his death as propoganda. Not one single shred of evidence the Taliban was anywhere near the area when it happened. Some trigger happy newbies wanting to "get into the shit" cost this young man his life. His Mom & Dad should be very proud of their efforts to unveil the truth...most people would not have gone to those lengths and just accepted the Army's initial tale.
