Best Football Movie

cat_loverI voted Other. Brians Song. Remember the Titans is very good but I put Brian's song ahead of it.

RedRider1Remember Playmakers??
The football action scenes were so bad....almost as bad as the acting. -

Scarlet_BuckeyeThere are so many good choices.
I'd have to watch them again, but I would say it's a tossup between:
The Program
Any Given Sunday
Varsity Blues
Remember the Titans -
Go4alOngbOmBIm a personal fan of Varsity Blues. But also Im a fan of High School football.
Remember the Titans is a great one also, so is The Program, Radio, and Rudy. But for the sheer entertainment factor Varsity Blues is my pick.
Who am I kidding, if its a football movie, I LIKE IT!
Also where is Necessary Roughness? Welcome to Foot-BALLS! -
HereticDazed and Confused. Football played some sort of a role in it, buried behind the partying.

Little DannyAll the Right Moves is tops for me. Another one that I really enjoyed that has not been mentioned is "The Best of Times" starring Robin Williams and Kurt Russell. It is hilarious comedy about a guy whose biggest regret in life is dropping the ball in a big game in high school. Twenty years later, they replay the game. It is a riot!

gutIt's "Brian's Song", hands down. Unless, as another person mentioned, you are talking football central to the theme, then I think it's Varsity Blues.
Another I like (and not just because I'm a Steeler fan) was "Fighting Back", about how Rocky Bleir came back from Vietnam severely wounded and was told he would never walk again (or so the story goes). Rooney let him collect a paycheck and work with the team to be an inspiration to them, and himself. Of course, he ends-up becoming a 1000-yd rusher and helping them win multiple championships. Really an incredible story, though technically a made-for-tv movie. I've wanted to see this, but have never been able to find a copy. -

Ahh... sorry I missed your post. I loved the movie too! I remember the part where they are trying to patch things up with the wives and the women agree to a date--- on a Monday Night when the two worst teams in the NFL are playing. Not willing to miss the game, Jack (Robin Williams) arranges to put the TV in clear view to watch as they eat and talk, unbeknownst to the ladies. -
enigmaax1. Quarterback Princess - you'd do her, don't act like you wouldn't
2. Waterboy
