Would you be pissed? Part II.

thavoiceHad round one a couple of weeks ago.
Here is round two.
Someone pulled out in front of Subject A and it damanged my car. Everyone was OK and such but it bugered it up pretty good.
So, of course they did the whole insurance thing. It goes to the person at fault, which was not Subject A.
We have a loaner car for a couple of weeks and last night subject A goes to pick it up at the body shop.
It was dark so I turned on the porch light to go check out the repair.
It was not acceptable. Not at all. I get pissed and asked who did the work. It was a place that always does very good work in town and I was very surprised. When I ask Subject A I get the response of "to get it fixed as new we would have to pay 500-700 out of our own pocket to do it and I decided we didnt want to spend that money". It is an older car, been very reliable, been paid off and hoped to keep it for years until it does.
I listen to the reasoning. It does not pass the smell test.
I notice in my bank account a deposit of X amount of money. Subject A says it was from the insurance for the repair. I said OK.
I call the body shop to ask why the repair was done like it was, meaning it wasnt really repaired much at all and quite honestly looks like shit.
Their response was....'we did exactly what Subject A told us to do. We gave Subject A the option of fixing it totally with the money from the insurance company or just make it good enough to drive. Subject A was adament to just do the minimun.
So I ask about why woudl the insurance not pay for the full amount and why would we have had to pay 500-700 dollars for it to be up to snuff.
His answer , 'the insurance would have paid for the full repair and NOTHING would have come out of your pocket. The adjuster came out, gave an estimate, we agreed to it and Subject A decided to do the mininmum.
So, when I ask what the check amount was we got from the insurance and it was a thousand bucks MORE than what subject A deposited into the account. Subject A says there was a written estimate for 500 more than what the insurance was going to pay. The body shop says that is not so, that the only estimate was from teh adjuster for what they were gonna pay.
When asked about the grand to Subject A it was fumbled around that it was paid to pay bills, etc etc etc.
So...........what the fuck is going on? -
Con_AlmaThere's a pattern here and it's not good.
I wouldn't be "pissed" but certainly concerned that the marriage is going to end badly.
I wish you well in this. -

HereticDefinitely confront "Subject A" on all this shit.
And then run "Subject A" through a wood chipper if the answer isn't very damn convincing.

what if subject A is really him and his alternate personality is trying to scam his other self out of money?Heretic;860005 wrote:Definitely confront "Subject A" on all this shit.

gorocks99To answer the thread title, yes.

Hopefully the pain of running ones own arm through a wood chipper will be enough to snap him out of his insanity. Before the blood loss and shock becomes fatal.
Your theory is the most logical, though. It explains both this and the phone. -

you know what's going on. why are you even asking on a message board? get your own account and start looking for a lawyer. cover your ass with documented events and records.

Pretty much this. It sounds like it's only a matter of time. -
TimberDoing business with the wrong people... yes I would be pissed.

thavoice
You talking about Subject A or the body shop? I have done business with the body shop before, always top notch, I also know how that stuff works in estimates and insurance.Timber;860049 wrote:Doing business with the wrong people... yes I would be pissed. -
McFly1955So subject A wrecked your car, cheaped out on the repair to get some extra cash, which magically disappeared --- you have an effed up car and subject A got all of the money and shady things have been happening lately anyways....Unless you are surprised with a vacation or flat screen tv in the next week or so, yes, I would be pissed.
-
TimberIf it was your car, why were you not dealing with the Type A person/ the insurance adjuster/ and the auto repair place.... seems like if you are the owner, you need to be involved from the beginning?? Just curious.

Unless I'm missing something --- subject A is his wife --- if that's true, I could see my wife taking care of this for me because she works part time and would likely have more time available during the day to take care of this kind of thing...If it's not his wife, then I'm totally confused. -
hoops23Definitely not a good sign. If I were you, I'd be preparing for the worst, hate to say it, but you do not want to get caught blindsided.

I'm with this guy. Leave yourself out of it, and just use "subjects." I don't know who the fuck is who! -

Agreed 100%... (or, significant other) I was just trying to get him to admit it was a spouse/girlfriend . The "money" showing up in my account was a sign.
Voice: Have you asked the car shop how much for a proper do-over on the vehicle? -
stroupsIf that was my car and I paid the insurance I would be damn sure I got the money. If not I would go the domestic violence route.

Yeah...he said they coud redo it and it would be close to what the regular estimate was, but the issue no would be that thousand bucks that is now have been blown.Timber;860322 wrote:Agreed 100%... I think it is obvious what is going on here, She has been banging the insurance guy for a couple of months and when the guy at the body shop found out that he wasn't the only one she was banging, he decided to hose her on the car repairs. -
Cat Food Flambe'^^^ snort.
Seriously, dude - coupled with the apparent fact that she's worried about any phone call that you might be getting, there's something going on here. It might not be sexual - she may have a gambling or spending habit. Take a really close look at your banks accounts, and run a credit report in both your names.
