ontheriv2000Laptops take a beating at college. Whether it's from lugging it from class to class or the amount of programs you need to run to complete your education. I would make sure that it not only has the operating capability that you need, but it also can withstand the travel it will endure! Just a thought!

Fail. Enjoy getting frustrated with your computer for your 4-5 years of undergrad. -

gutStay away from Dell. Their customer service is complete shit now because they gutted it in cost-cutting moves and really only support corporate.
They are all equivalent systems. To me it would be between the two Thinkpad's, and then it's a personal preference for 12.1" vs. 15.6" screens. I think a 14" screen is ideal for portability/workhorse, but while you may love the portability of the 12.1" you have to ask how comfortable you would be doing work on that small a screen all the time. If you have a few extra bucks, the best solution might be the 12.1" and then get a lcd monitor to plug in at your desk at home, maybe with a USB keyboard (you don't really need a docking station). -

I bought my Mother-in-Law an Anus a few months ago. I'm thinking it was less than $400.00
Don't buy a Dell. I've had 2 Dell laptops and was and is not impressed with them. I currently am using a Dell Inspriron and this is my last Dell that I will buy. -
Crimson streakI have a Dell xps basically with all top notch shit and I love it and have never had a problem
