  Honestly, I can be a bit of a beer snob, but readily acknowledge Bud is the best of the "cheap" beers, and actually Bud Select is a pretty decent light beer.
  
  And NOTHING tastes better after a few holes on the golf course than a Bud Light (only time I'll drink Bud Light these days, and more of a nostalgia thing).

  Bells, Founders, Arcadia, Southern Tier, Stone, DFH, Victory, AleSmith, Christian Moerlein, Avery...I could go on and those are just some American Craft Brews. It also depends on what Style of beer I'm in the mood for. (Wheat, IPA, Stout, Barley Wine, Sour, etc...)
  
  I've had more than my share of Bud, Miller Lite, Coors Light, and worse beers back in the day, but gave all that up in 2005. I was a die hard Miller Lite drinker until I went to an Arcadia tasting and discovered ales and the different style of ales..
  
  Since I've discovered Ales I'm not much of a Lager/Pilsner drinker any more, especially "American Lagers." I tried Buds American Ale. It was alright, but Bud upped the price of it to make you think you were getting something special when all you were getting was a different Style of beer. (whole different fermentation process and yeast strain)
  
  I guess due to my age I just don't like going to bars and slamming down beers. I'd rather go to a Pub/Restaurant, with a decent beer selection, and have a beer or 2 with my meal. Something that will compliment it. (like a wine would)
  
  I'm all for everyone drinking what they like or want. I just prefer beers with big flavor instead of being weak and little flavor. Now if I want something that tastes like cold water, I drink cold water.
  
  I'm just not a fan of Bud in general for some of their tactics in the beer industry...(see the movie Beer Wars)
  
  The Philosophy that it sells more therefore it's better doesn't work for me. I just drink what I like, just like everyone else.

  See, that's it for me. I like my beer to taste like water because it is my replacement for water. Gotta have at least 64 oz. a day to stay healthy. And since my philosophy is that if X amount is good for you, 2X must be really really good for you.

  I guess every one should drink Sutter Home, smoke some Philly Blunts, and drink Bud. That would prove that their life is above average. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways.

  I never said I was better than anyone Sleeper and I haven't unlocked any superior secret. It's a matter of choice for me. I'd be pretending if I came one here and talked about how great Bud and Miller are, because that's not what I like and it's not me.
  
  I'm just a wee bit older than you and have found out things in life that I like to bring into my average life and enjoy. I admit I'm average and could care less about it. I'm not pushing my beers one anyone. In fact I stated the opposite earlier.

  I personally don't care what beer people choose to drink. There are some beers that taste like they are watered down but I wouldn't put Budweiser in that category. I'm pretty pumped that I finally found a store in my area that carries a lot of the brands that I have heard people talk about on here. My next purchase will be Sam Adams Boston Lager probably.

  Bigdaddy I wish I could help ya, but I'm not much of a GL fan. I do like their Lake Erie Monster and a couple other of their high end beers. Just not a fan of their everyday stuff.
  
  Maybe check out the former Walgreens Beer thread that some of us beer snobs took over in order to feel better about our average life.

  Start with Dortmunder, then Elliot Ness. Burning River or Comm Perry later. Edmund Fitz is a porter. Monster is smooth for a such a strong APV.

  As for Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold is the GOAT in my opinion. One of my favorite beers.

  Ed Fitz and the Christmas Ale are the only GL beers I've had, but they are both outstanding.
