Did your TWC rates go up?

  • Glory Days
Noticed today the bill was about $14 higher. I find it interesting because right now I am watching tv that is choppy and scrambled. I wish there was another option here besides satellite.

I miss the NFL Network from when I had Dish Network. And to answer the original question, I don't receive my bill from TWC until mid next month so I don't know if the cost went up.

Satellite is an acceptable option, and a much better/affordable one than TWC... unless you live in an apartment and can't put up a dish. That's the only reason I ever had TWC, luckily I had the Price Lock Guarantee for the 2 years I loved there and they were only allowed to raise my bill once (by $3) after 12 months.

    Very wise choice.

My parents have had it for 6 years and it takes a big storm for it to go out, like HUGE clouds. One TWC outage generally lasts longer than all of your minor Dish hiccups that comes with storms combined in a year.

As a DirecTV customer, it takes a pretty heavy storm to knock my satellite out.

Time Warner can suck my dick. They're contracted with my apartment complex. We tried to switch to U-Verse (our landlords got enough complaints about Time Warner that they gave all of the tenants the option to switch and had AT&T guys go door to door), but the way Time Warner has everything wired/routed the AT&T guy was nice enough to tell us our internet would be slow as hell if we switched. Only 4 more weeks and no more TWC though.

    I dumped them this winter.

Well, actually, that isnt entirely true. When I moved into my apartment 12 years ago the cable was already on. Of course, I thought it was included in the rent (that is my story at least). In december they must have done a sweep in our area as I and many, many people I know who was getting it for free got turned off. Neighbor got cable for over 20 years for free. I had 4-5 other friends and family members who had gotten cable for free for years who also got booted off in december as well.

When you move into a place....before caling to hook up cable check to see if you are hot first. The first things that workers blow off is disconnects at the cable offices. Either too busy, lazy, bad weather...whatever......they do 'drive by' disconnects.

but anways.......got a local company now. They have MORE channels than TWC has and its only $34/month with the taxes included. As soon as they fire up a new section of town it is a max exodus from TWC. Only downfall...they are 3-4 weeks out on installs they are so busy.

Call Customer Service and find out why it went up.

I've never had ant real problems with TWC. I'm a fairly complacent fellow though.

I have dish and my tv never goes out during a storm. If it does it's only for a min or 2. The only time it went out for an extended tome was when we had a huge snow storm and I then figured out all I had to do is brush the snow off the dish

Says it's 335 bones on the website. Is that how much it usually is? Seems like the price was different last time I checked.

If I remember right the price changes. IF you re order toward end of the seaon or in offeseason it is usually cheaper. I think the most expensive it gets is right before the season.

I wanna say we used to get it for 99 bucks

Ah damn. I will pay the 335 for it now. I don't want to miss a game.

This. I actually prefer their dvr box to DirecTV's. I just want NFL Sunday Ticket. That is the only deal breaker for me.
  • End of Line
There's always WOW! I have that and when I got there was only about 20 HD channels and over the past year there's nearly 100 HD channels now.

I get my cable and internet through them and it's a very reasonable price.

I am glad someone brought this up...my wife and I are starting to shop around for what we want to go with.

I have priced a few things.

Time Warner is the only cable service offered in our area, to bundle it with the internet is $111-ish per month. RoadRunner is $53-ish by itself. Oh, and TW has awful customer service.
DirecTV has a deal that bundles Sunday Ticket with a tv package for something around $48 per month, there's a package cheaper, but that's the one we'd probably go with.
Dish Network has a tv package around $25-35 that we'd go with.

I cannot decide on what to do. Honestly, the Sunday Ticket is a big perk for DirecTV. But...I really, really, really want FSC. If the DirecTV package doesn't have FSC and Dish does, Dish wins out. FSC is almost a must for my wife and I. It could possibly be a tax right-off too :). But...I do really, really, really want to see my PACKERS play every Sunday!!!

    Choices, choices.

Did anyone ever had TW calling them randomly about upgrading etc? for like 2-3 weeks they were calling every couple days, even on weekends. since i sleep during the day, i would look at the number and just roll over. then one day i called the number back and when i heard them answer, in my nicest tone of voice, i told them to never call me back.
