They lost bc MLB is corrupt?
  • thedynasty1998
I was reading tweets about it this morning. After watching SC, that is by far the worst call I've ever seen, any sport.

Starting a baseball thread at 2:00 AM in a general forum, asking yourself for help in putting the officials in jail, proclaiming your love for the pirates when nobody replies, THIS BUDS FOR YOU!!

    So you support kidnapping murderers?

Yes, making a bad call in the middle of the night to screw a team that no one outside the Pittsburgh metro area cares about just screams of corruption. SMH

    Somalian pirates we?

The more I watch the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_o4LHIQs-0) the more I see that the catcher was actually VERY close to missing the tag. The still photo posted above shows he did tag the runner, but it was very close to a miss, IMO.

    Atlanta screws Pit again?

    First Ward, now the Bucco's.

The best view was the one the umpire had. Looks to me like the catcher may have missed the tag. All the replays I saw were not enough to overturn the original call even if they did have replay.

go check the threads on the correct forum and you might take that one back....he was tagged 5 feet before getting to home....with the ump having the perfect unobstructed view....he blew it...nothing more, nothing less
  • alwaysawarrior
Wasn't enough to overturn. Good Lord, I'm certainly not a pirates fan, but the umpire blew that one so badly. He tagged him twice actually before he got to the plate. Which he kind of touched as an after thought b/c even he knew he was all kinds of out.

I still havent seen an angle where Jerry Meals is excused from a horrendous call. This one alone, which most closely mirrors what he was looking at is SO obvious it is sickening.

Yes. Really there's a big conspiracy against Pittsburgh because everyone is out to get them.

When you factor in the Steelers, the city of Pittsburgh is way ahead on missed/blown calls over the years.

the thing that confuses me is the safe call before lugo even touched home...i think the ump wanted to get the f outta there but i think the call ended up being the right one...not a good angle on that pic above - i think he swiped all air

    SAFE!!!

Watch the video again. When Lugo stands up, his right foot is on the plate, and Meals hadn't started signalling safe yet. Lugo made it worse by going back and retouching the plate.

oh ok yea i see that now too...i felt like he slid way too early but i feel like thats what helped him sneak around the tag

    Bad call. Bad call.
