What's your commute?
-
iclfan2So I started a new job a week ago, and right now I am driving about 40 miles each way, about 50 minutes. Once I move, I will be driving about 50 miles in 45 minutes but getting reimbursement per mile (.51) from my firm. Anyone else have a pretty long commute?
-
Fab1bLess than a mile away from my office. 5 or 6 years ago I moved back by my office from 16 miles away at the time, best decision!
-
Polar Bear 7362 miles one way; Powell to Mansfield. No reimbursement.
-
Little Danny19 miles, but with traffic it takes about 35-40 minutes to get to to work and 40-45 minutes to get home.
-
Glory Days21.1 miles one way, about 30 minutes. although my route is through downtown cleveland on the highway, i never have to goto work during rush hour, so its pretty fast.

Same here. I put about $150 in gas on my company card each week. Also have a company car so I don't mind the driving. -
Cleveland BuckI work 9-5 downtown, so while I live 2 miles away from work it takes 20 minutes to get there and 30 minutes to get home.

Yes I do. -
Belly35I could reach over to the night stand grab the smart phone and pick up all my e mails from companies, use the speaker and call and or reply to emails...
I could walk down stairs and get on the computer and never leave the house and run both businesses. But I prefer the 2.5 mile drive one way, pick up coffee, and open the business up every morning between 7:00 and 8:30 -
j_crazyLafayette LA to Dickinson ND. then 6 hr drive to the rig.

Automatik30-40 min door to door walking + train to go only 6 miles.
Its not terrible, but not ideal. -
justincredibleMy wife just got a new job. Used to work at UC which had a 15 minute commute. New job is at the private school right across the street so she'll be able to walk to work in a minute or two.

You couldn't bike? Two miles is nothing.
I work about a mile from my place, it's about a seventeen-minute walk or a five-minute bike ride. -

Damn, that sucks. The reimbursement is nice, but the time sounds terrible. -
TedShecklerOn the road at 5AM, get to work at 6:45. Leave at 3:30, get home at 5:15. Yea, the wasted time sucks.

Damn I don't know if I could do that. I could manage at first, but I think it would eventually wear on me and I'd have to consider moving closer.
My office manager takes a bus from Eastern PA to NYC 2 hours each way everyday. F that! -
Curly J2.2 miles one way.
