Why Do You Drink?

  • ernest_t_bass
Lot of talk about drinking on here, in various topics... mostly in meltdown threads where people threaten to not live anymore. On in retard threads started by myself.

    Why do you drink?

i voted that i dont drink. however its more like rarely, but its not because there is nothing else.

I drink because I like the taste, and the buzz is nice too. I usually have a beer or two after work during the week, on the weekends I might (will) have a few more. I guess I'm a cross between connoisseur and partier.

I voted rarely because I'll have a beer maybe once a year these days. Used to be a helluva lot more than that about 10 years ago.

I dont drink unless Im at an event where beer is available. I dont buy beer, to have at the house.

thats why i only drink at bars. too damn expensive at events. when i am eating a restaurant, i need a lot to drink and beer wouldnt cut it. and there isnt any beer at my house either.

I meant more like cookouts, bday parties, stuff like that. LOL.

It is ALL too expensive, thus why I dont buy it ever, anymore.

Social Connoisseur. Golf Outings, BBQs, sporting events (bars & restaurants, not at the game site). I do love visiting microbrew pubs to sample the store.

Drink occasionally for taste or social reasons but mostly to get drunk.

I turn 25 next month and have never tasted alcohol. I just have never had the urge to drink nor see the "benefit" of it.

Oh, there is NO benefit whatsoever. None.

    For the shenanigans that ensue.

I voted Connoisseur because I'm smart enough to know Pabst is a hell of a lot better beer then Budweiser.

In college, I was a party person.

Now, I'll have a drink when the wife and I go to dinner. Other than that, I'll actually DRINK maybe once a month because there is usually some kind of social event going on at least one weekend a month. I guess you could call me the National Guard Drinker.

I have a glass or two of Jefferson Reserve or Knob Creek every night. The reason why is well it helps me relax and it taste great.

I enjoy drinking most of my 30 pack days are behind me but I still like to drink some beers usually 2-3x a week.

Because I live the sad and brutal life of an alcoholic.

I drink because I'm sad. I'm sad because I drink.

This is something that I never really understood. The "benefit" of a lot of alcohol out there is that it tastes good. You can enjoy a nice craft beer, a fine wine, or good scotch responsibly without getting wasted. Just because a lot of people act like idiots (I'll be the first to admit I've had too much a "few" times) doesn't mean there is nothing good about it.
