Highway from Michigan to Flordia?

  • Ironman92
Heard about one a few years ago it seems. Word is they are doing some intersection work around Piketon and down through to Minford for this highway? Anyone know? What is wrong with going 75/95 to Flordia? If they are doing it it will have to cross route 23 some. Seems like a waste. Quicker travel for drugs?

75 will take you to 10 in Fl, hit 10 E to 95. I would cut across over to 77 - 26 (south carolina) - 95 and down from there. 75 is always constructed up.

Sorry, I'm bored and wanted to do it before someone else.

I'm not traveling. I'm asking if there is a highway being constructed from Michigan to Flordia.

Ironman, around here in Piketon we have heard rumors for years of an interstate coming through this part of the state. I had always heard this interstate would run from Detroit to Myrtle beach. I havent heard any news lately on this highway, but 23 is a pain. From Portsmouth to Columbus there are around 40 stop lights! lol

What are they doing at the intersection of 32 and the road your school is on?

kinda seems like a waste to have another one as 75 takes ya to florida. Depending on where ya go in Fla you can branch off before ya get there.

St Rt 220 comes into Zahns Corner from Waverly and does a 90 degree left turn and heads towards St Rt 32. There at Zahns Corner is an intersection with market st, schuster rd and 220. They are widening schuster rd that runs straight from 220 that passes the middle school and making it 220 so that 220 doesnt make that sharp left turn. I dont know if there is anything underlying in the states plans, but that is the short and simple reason for the construction.

Not to stir the pot, but that school is the middle school grades 4-6. The high school and jr high are together in Piketon. I work at the jr/sr high school. I worked at Zahns Corner Middle school for 6 years before I became AD.

Makes sense redstreak.....the left turn is silly for where it goes to.

I know I subbed at that school about 5 times back in 1998. I know I had the football coach's 7th and 8th graders in science.

Is Flordia one of the 57 states?

There is not. Its one way north from Valdosta, one way north from Savannah. WE ARE CLOSED. :)

I kinda assumed that they built that great big interchange on the south end of I-280 at SR20 with the intent of running that further south towards Columbus. Maybe meet up with 23 and expand to four lanes to Upper Sandusky

Ohio and Michigan basically refuse to build it. NC is the only state who actually has physical highway labeled I-73. WV and VA at least say they'll do it eventually.

This highway may take 100 years to come to fruition (they started almost 15 years ago and have less than 40 miles of highway)

That big interchange normally costs $250M, which is just stupid.

Running parallel to I-75 for ~40 miles would be so expensive and generally asinine. Just have it connect to Findlay and make SR23 become a 70mph interstate from Findlay to Columbus--it would be awesome through Delaware when it's 50mph for no apparent reason.

That is about 3 miles from where I live. They built that to do away with the horrible cloverleaf exchange they had there and to eventually accommodate a business park just to the south. Tobias is right, adding another express way right there doesn't make sense with 75 so close.
