A Question for You Drinkers

  Has anyone ever experienced shortness of breath after a night of drinking? I never used to, but after my one year off of drinking, when I consume too much now, I have shortness of breath the next day.
  
  Anyone else experience this, and if so, what is the cause of it? Had a wedding reception last night and had quite a few. Having trouble breathing today.

  Ha possible. I've never heard of the problem but doesn't mean it's not something other than you being a puss.

  Never happened to me... the best times were long nights of drinking then getting up at 9am to run 20 miles.

  Its usually the 2 packs of smokes I take down when heavily drinking that causes me shortness of breath.

  i was going to say... if you tend to smoke (or smoke more often) while drinking, that would probably be the cause of the shortness of breath.
  
  however, if you do smoke you'd probably know that, so i doubt that is the issue.

  Kind of know what you are talking about etb. I dont smoke but every now and then ill smoke a cig or cigar when im drinking and have shortness of breath the next day or two

  That's crazy that you mention this bc I just experienced the same thing today. Went out last night and drank about a gallon of whisky and today I feel like I sucked down a pack of cigs. The thing is, I gave up smoking months ago. I usEd to attribute the feeling to all the smoking I would do when drunk but no more cigs for me. Don't know what the cause is.

  To go from not drinking for a year to drinking like you do, I'm not surprised there are physical differences.
  
  I drink the beer too, so i am not throwing stones at your glass house.

  I have had that happen before but I take meds for panic attacks so I have always attributed it to this.
