The Voice: Finals

Anyone else watching? Really like the show, much more than American Idol. Dia is my favorite. I think she's the best all-around artist on the show.

Unfortunately, my wife is watching this and so I guess I am too. My only thought is, clearly the country dude is nailing his "student". And that.....is awesome.

    +1 to this

    I'm semi watching

The Tom Petty song was pretty good. Didn't really pay attention to the original song. And Ne-yo was just TERRIBLE

Dia is pretty good. But I like Javier the best. My wife has been watching this show since the beginning, and from Javier's first performance, I looked at her and said, "there's your winner."

I actually liked the uniqueness of Xenia's voice the best, she was just too awkward to win. I like Dia because she is the best at arranging her songs so they don't sound just like the original. Her rendition of Heartless was amazing.

That actually kinda pissed me off when they were raving about how original her version of Heartless was. It was dead on to The Fray's version. So yes, it was different from the original...but it was just like the version that was already recorded that was different from the original.

Now her version of Losing My Religion was pretty solid and unique.

Dia is easy on the eyes, too. But I actually really like her tone and singing. She's one of the few contestants I've seen on these shows who's album I'd look forward to.

Agree Javier is probably the most polished and has a terrific voice, but to me he just sounds like so many other R&B singers, especially Usher.

There were a few people who got cut earlier, before even the semi's, that I thought were pretty outstanding as well. I kind of liked Xenia, as well, but there's no charisma not only in her persona but in her singing.

That's my problem w/ Javier. He obviously has a great voice, but every song he sing sounds exactly like the previous song. There's no creativity behind his singing. I really wish contestants would have to sing a song they wrote themselves during competitions like this.

    and the bull dyke sucks

Javier will win, but I'd bang Dia.

I'd be surprised. Inventing Shadows is trending worldwide on Twitter. Dia is very popular.

I may have liked Dia's original song the best of the 4. She's kind of a cross between Adele and Natalie Merchant.
  • voewoody
What in the hell was that last performance? CeeLo and all of those crazy looking kids reminded me of the scene from Peter Pan when they are teaching Robin Williams how to fight...
  • gut
The worst part was the black mascara she put under one eye, like a football player or something. That wasn't a spectacle of the good sorts.
  • GOONx19
Inventing Shadows is already up to #14 on the Top 100.

In my house, Dia is the worst of the four. There's 4 of us, all rooting for Beverly, with a mix for Javier and Vickie 2nd. Mind you, we have ages ranging 14-53, all thinking the same winner. Javier's performance of MJ's Man in the mirror was very good, but Beverly is just...freaking....AWESOME.

I can't stand Beverly.... I've thought Javier has had this thing locked up since the audition rounds.
  • se-alum
Dia is #1 on iTunes(a download is a vote). Javier is also in the top 5.

I cant watch Beverly because she looks like she has Parkinson's disease when she sings
I cant watch Vicci because of the god awful foot stomping crap she does when she sings (even on slow songs)
I cant listen to Dia because of her over the top attempt to make herself sound like the "unique folk" sounding singer
I cant listen to Javier because he sounds like every other R & B singer on the planet

I like Xenia...I normally dont like people whose voices are that different, but her version of Price Tag was better than the original

The best singer in the competition was put up against Javier in the battle rounds and lost (I cant remember her name)

Javier will win. The show has pretty much guaranteed that with the way the judges gush about him and the way they have pushed him from the first song.

I get the feeling that we will find out in a few years that this whole show was a setup to introduce a few artists. If you remember the scandal from the first season of Last Comic Standing, some great people were voted off and it turned out that all of the finalists were under the same agent who was affiliated with the producers and host.

    Beverly's Father?

If you believe that ANY of these shows are actually "talent searches" then you are sorely mistaken. It's a TV show designed to try to get ratings. Any show where they "search the country" for the next-big-whatever is basically a sham. This show is no different. The producers can fudge the numbers on votes, hand pick people to go however far they want, and do whatever they can to keep ratings up. None of these shows are authentic, and if you go in realizing that, it's easier to just enjoy it as a show.

    The Voice= 2 words

thavoice = 1 word spelled wrong.

yeah, that is what their lawyers told me as well.

Finale on now. Javier and Stevie Nicks doing Landslide was pretty cool.
