Google+

Nope, no one is on it.

Google is going to kill this off before it even gets started. The fact that they haven't opened it up yet has killed the momentum that it had back in July when everybody was asking about it.

It's unfortunate. The potential is there. It's an awesome platform.

It's more or less open to people...I have 150 invites.

Agreed 100%. It's just a much better UI and experience overall than FaceBook. However, while Google is inserting their thumbs into their respective assholes, FaceBook is taking and implementing their ideas.

I don't think Google will kill it. Way too much potential there.
  • Ow! My Balls!
    I could use an invite.

I see that Facebook is now allowing you to drop friends into groups, like Google+. I half wonder if Google+ was not created just to push Facebook a little harder. I can see them being shareholders and wanting to urge them to do better.

Google+ looks like it will end up failing. I haven't been on it since the first week I registered.

As some people said, I don't see google+ overtaking facebook. Facebook is already established with users, not everyone is going to want to start all over again, and they are just going to copy every desirable feature from google+. Such is the life in the tech industry. Everything is easy to replicate.

I haven't checked mine since making one, and I know a lot of other people who have done the same thing.

I prefer Google+ over Facebook. I think Google+ is a MUCH better application. The downfall of Google+ will be that it's not Facebook - i.e., it's not established, it doesn't have the sheer mass quantity of users that Facebook has, it will never get the "less-than-tech-savy" users to adopt it because they will never shy away from Facebook, when Facebook does everything they need it to do.

I tried getting my friends to adopt Google+ and while a few have, those who did, have already given up [just about].

I agree with this. Google should have tried to get in the game a lot earlier.

Facebook has already copied one of the best features of Google+ ... the ability to choose with whom you share status updates/posts. Google+ is boring right now because there is nobody there. The only time I get on Google+ is to paste the status update I posted to Facebook.

They will kill it just like they did with Wave, lots of potential but they don't know how they're going to monetize it.

Google opened Google+ up to everyone today (no invite required), as well as added a bunch of new features:
