The actress who plays Tara has said that she hasn't seen any scripts for next season and Alan Ball hasn't told her, yet, whether or not she will be returning. She does have a number of movie projects going on so who knows? What I have been reading is that Tara will be back next season in one form or another. Let the speculation begin!

Maybe in the books, but it seems that in some of the flashbacks of Bill and Loraine, he was going to kill himself, so she released him. If they couldn't go against their maker, why would she release him? I think that is another area that the show has drifted away from the book.

I am really hoping that this is the case. Russell and Eric are the 2 oldest vampires left on the show that we know of (with Godric killing himself). It would be awesome to see them wreak havoc.

Hate to admit, I found myself cheering when Tara got her melon blown up and then when Sookie pulled the trigger on Deb.

Russell being back in the picture was expected at some point because they didn't just kill him. Newlin's return as a vamp I find very, very ironic.

Very disappointed in how Marnie went out. That was some lame crapola.

I was happy tara went out as well. Hopefully they don't try to turn her into a vampire or some shit. I wasn't happy about deb going out like that. She is pretty hot.

The one thing that bothered me a bit about this season was the whole werepanther thing with Jason. If you read the books you will know what I mean.

That pissed me off as well. Not the directions it was going or went. But that they just decided it wasnt working and ended it. No closure to the storyline at all.

I still think they are going to cover that storyline next season. Jason and Jess will start feeling eachother more, then all of a sudden that female werepanther will be back. Let's not forget merlott encountered a panther in the season finale.

They def didn't just drop the storyline all together.

Yeah, I think it's coming back, too. Honestly, I didn't like that storyline in the books so I probably won't care too much for it here. The Hotshot inbred thing is funny for about 5 seconds...other than that, I got over it really fast.

I did read on one of the sites (I scan them for news of cast changes, renewals, etc.) that the writers are scouring mythology to see what other supes they might want to bring in. Also, in the cast members under contract for next season, the actress who plays Tara wasn't among them, at least not yet. So I'm betting she's gone.

Based off this post, it's sounding like they are starting to steer further and further away from the books.

Well, even so. It was dumb to abandon it for 7 episodes or whatever until the end of the finale.

I don't think that was a werepanther, it was a black wolf. I was assuming it was Debbie Pelt after revenge against Merlotte for the death of Marcus and her subsequential breakup with Alcide.

Which would make sense...except Debbie had clothes on and a shotgun right after that. If she'd just shifted, she'd be nekkid and not carrying a weapon.

I just watched it again tonight and it was most definitely a black wolf, however, I always thought Debbie was a white wolf. Perhaps it was someone from Marcus' pack? A new character that we will be introduced to next season?
