I've been Nuked, Stuck and poisoned....
-
Thread BomberI have had a Bone marrow biopsy, a spinal tap, and so many blood tests that I can barely keep track of all of them, and after consulting a couple of oncologists I have been diagnosed with Type 1 Non Hodgkin Lymphoma.
I am fortunate from the standpoint that It was caught very early. Preliminary tests have shown that it has not spread to any Major organs.
On Sunday, I had a tonsillectomy and two lymph nodes removed from the side of my chest. The biopsy confirmed the cancer, But it also showed that the cells were non indolent. (slow growing)
Tuesday, I had the first radiation treatment. Imagine a bad sunburn that itches about the size if a soft ball on 15 or 15 places on the body.
Thursday I had my first Chemo therapy. At first it wasn't so bad. It was like a massive hangover with a double headache. Then yesterday, I felt much better and thought it prudent to drink a couple beers. BAD IDEA. I was amazed that it was possible to puke straight up and hit the ceiling 6 feet above my head. A puke rain Then resulted. I looked at the wife when I returned from the bathroom, expecting the yelling to commence, and Only got a small disappointed look and a short comment " I guess you leaned a little lesson there"
God I love this woman, it has to be sooo hard on her, and All I get is love and support from her.
Another 3 weeks or so of this and they will recheck again. Ant will adjust or add treatments as necessary.
The people at the James are awesome. That is why Teh OSU id the greatest University in the world. ( The football thing is just a plus)
If I get well and live long enough to see my Grand kids grow, It might just turn into a religious experience for me.
Until later, remember.... This is serious business..... -

So you went to Vegas?
Kidding. Keep fighting, and DON'T DRINK! Had a friend with the same diagnosis about two years ago. Drinking wrecked him after chemo. -
coyotes22Good luck man! Hope you fight and beat this thing!

WriterbuckeyeAs someone who survived cancer (it was caught early, I was VERY fortunate), you are in my prayers. Take care of yourself (or let your wife do it if you can't at the moment). Survival is great. I've seen one nephew go on to college and play baseball, and my nieces are within 3 years of finishing high school.

Thrilla12Keep fighting man, hope you overcome it

tcarrier32just remember, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is your new friend. scientifically proven to not make you throw up, and help with those radiation treatments.
