Yuengling...coming to ohio

  • thavoice
Heard it this morning on WLW outta cincy that the maker is going to start distributing their tasty brew in Ohio!

Love me some black and tan!

No more loading up the car when we go to pittsburgh for the whole neighborhood.

I have never understood why it is so hard to get that stuff in Ohio???? It's every where in Florida!

    ...and in Maryland too.

Because they didn't distribute it west of the Ohio.

Good cheap beer, better than some of the other "light lagers" out there. Don't get the uber-fascination with it but if I'm in a pinch it'll do.

Weird I mean its made in PA right?? Doesn't make much sense to me but oh well it is what it is, enjoy now I guess. Actually had me a Yuengling Black and Tan this past Sat.

When I was young you couldn't get Coors in many states, including Ohio. They actually made a movie about it.

Yeah..never made sense they didnt distribute it in Ohio and all but they focused east coast and south it appears.

The reason that I've always heard is that the two Yuengling breweries were able to support the East coast, but could not support the amount needed to distribute to Ohio. But now that they purchased another brewery in Tennessee, they will be able to handle the quantities needed.

I heard about them coming to Ohio awhile ago, and I hope the October timeline they reported today is true. For the price, I would pick Yuengling over Bud/Bud Light, Coors/Coors Light, and Miller/Miller Lite any day of the week.

But I will still probably be a regular Killian's drinker.

I see Coors Light all over here but rarely see regular Coors anymore. Maybe I'm just not looking for it.

    Saw this yesterday...super pumped.

I'm pumped for it to come here finally. BUT after being able to get it on the reg for 2 months, the novelty will wear off.

No more storing it in mass quantities for me. I'll now store extra Boulevard Wheat whenever I make it over to Indiana.

    Not for me.

This is great news. When I worked in P.A. I used to have a small account I called on in Bessemer that just happened to be a beer distributor. The owner said one of the reasons they didn't branch out in to Ohio was the Pottsville brewery couldn't handle the extra volume.

That's the stuff I'd like to get in Ohio, Boulevard Wheat !!!

I'm not to excited about it the Yuengling thing. I've heard it's alright and better than Bud and the rest of 'those' American Lagers, but I'm not a fan of Lagers. So I'll try it, but I believe it can never live up to the hype that people give it.
  • karen lotz
Good stuff. Only had it a couple times at Gresso's in Columbus. They would sell bottles of it on Sundays when the Steelers played and I played on a softball team that they sponsored on Sundays.
  • Cat Food Flambe'
Nothing wrong with the beer, but I don't think it's all that special.

+1. I'm interested in trying it to see what all the hype is about, but I find it hard to believe it's as good the majority of beers out there.

I think it is ok, compares to bud IMO. I do like their black and tan though!

...about motherfucking time....errr sorry, that was for another mofo thread.:) Actually it DOES work for this thread.

$10 for a 12 pack of bottles for a lager that has taste. Thats what appeals to me, the others like Bud and Coors are just water with a little flavoring, Yuengling packs a little punch, especially for the price.

Most overrated beer ever. I personally hate the stuff.
  • nc52
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, i will personally make a huge dent in the yeungling population when this happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. I mean it is ok, better than most of the usual stuff. But if I want a good beer I'll buy one, and if I want something to drink a bunch of it'll be busch light unless something is on sale. I just don't get the obsession with it.
