Ryan Dunn of MTV's Jack*** is dead
-
SportsAndLadyI believe Facebook came out and said it was a mistake to get rid of his facebook page.
Probably a little PR move..i'm sure it wasn't actually a mistake..I mean I believe in coincidence, but come on... -

Wow. -
2kool4skoolWestboro Baptist will be protesting the funeral. This may finally be the moment everyone has been waiting for where they fuck with people who aren't going to care if they go to jail.
Hopefully the CKY crew, specifically Mike Vallely(from the youtube video below) shows up.

Con_AlmaWhy would they protest a funeral?

Fab1bCould be fireworks at that funeral

I didn't see anyone say no on should care about it, but the fact is that Dunn got what was coming. He did something incredibly stupid and paid the ultimate price. The fact that he was paid to do crazy stunts or that he was a good guy has nothing to do with it.bigdaddy2003;808461 wrote:Kind of annoying to hear people act like these guys passing away is karma and no one should care about it. Dunn was one of the most likeable guys on the crew. I'm not saying he was a great person by any stretch and yeah he did get paid to act like a Jackass but that is America. I'm not saying people should be crying because I don't think crying over a celebrity is warranted but saying it's no big deal that he died or that it's karma is stupid.
This could easily be a Darwin thread and people would be making jokes all over the place and not think twice about it. This Darwin winner just happens to be famous. -

To garner attention. That's their MO regardless of the cause.Con_Alma;808902 wrote:Why would they protest a funeral? -

It's strictly for the media attention.Con_Alma;808919 wrote:Are not funerals in line with their religious convictions?

Well if people mean it's karma that he died because of drunk driving then I can agree. I have heard people on Facebook saying it was karma that he died because of the stunts he did on Jackass. Which is dumb. I'm not sticking up for the guy in any way. I didn't shed a tear for him because I don't cry for celebrities but I did like him on Jackass. Oh well I suppose. -

So they protest Jews and gays. I don't understand why they would protest a funeral.
I understand they want attention with their actions but they have disclosed why they protest Jews and gays. I want to know why they are protesting a funeral. It's odd. -

Have you been living in a hole for the past decade? -

Nope. I have read many a report regarding Westboro Baptist and their antics. Still can't find any info regarding why they would protest a funeral.2kool4skool;808954 wrote:Have you been living in a hole for the past decade? -
Steel Valley FootballThe WB church protests celebrity funerals for the media attention. It has nothing to do with their cause or beliefs. What's so hard to grasp about that CA?
-
Con_AlmaFound some info. They are not protesting a funeral like 2kool4skool has said. They are picketing at his funeral to protest the lifestyle they claim he led which they believe is mocking sin.
Not quite the same thing as protesting a funeral.

Semantics. Picketing, protesting. They show up with signs.
But, they simply are there for media attention and not necessarily the lifestyle of the deceased. They will mold statements to fit whoever died. Its about media coverage. Proof of this is that they protest...er picket (sorry) the funerals of plane crash victims and soldiers KIA, about whom they have no info regarding lifestyle, beliefs, etc. -
Con_AlmaSemantics change his statement to mean something that he didn't intend.
I understand their desire for attention. My question related around why a funeral as was stated, or to use your words what were the words that were molded explaining their "protest". I found that answer. -
Steel Valley FootballExcept you didn't really find your answer if you think it has anything to do with Dunns lifestyle as you stated earlier. The funeral just happens to be their podium because it's controversial to picket ANY funeral.
-

I don't think they are there because of his lifestyle. That's what they are using as a crutch to publicly claim that they are going. That wasn't the question I asked.Steel Valley Football;809018 wrote:Except you didn't really find your answer if you think it has anything to do with Dunns lifestyle as you stated earlier. ....
I found the answer to my question of why 2kool4skool stated that they are protesting a funeral. They aren't. -
Steel Valley FootballI think you already knew the WB church isn't actually opposed to funerals, per se.
-
Fab1bI hate WBC but what can you do? They are very well versed in law, at least the Phelps daughter is and they know exactly what they can and can't do, as well as what can be done to them. As much as I want to see it, the second someone attacks them well they just got their payday and media hayday!
