DC or Marvel Comics?

I like Batman, but Y-Town has a point, Batman is not a SUPERhero.

Batman might be my favorite, but I like far more Marvel ones, particularly X-Men and Spider-Man.

No, he's not a superhero. Which makes him even more of a badass.

Marvel, and it's not even close. The only thing DC has going for itself, and I mean only thing is Batman. While I watch the Superman movies (and I'll more than likely check out the Green Lantern movies), Superman is hands down THE dumbest superhero ever. A superhero, by nature, is supposed to have a flaw. Superman's ONLY flaw is kryptonite. How dumb is that? Let's create a character that is virtually impenetrable and occasionally toss in kryptonite. Dumb.

The X-Men universe ALONE trumps DC. That's not even getting into the Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, the Silver Surfer, Thor, the Incredible Hulk, the whole Shi-ar Empire, etc.

But he is a super friend. So he's super at something. And I miss the Super Friends cartoon.

I'm in the crowd whose taste for DC is pretty much limited to Batman. I had a subscription from about age 4 to age 10. But my favorite was far and away the Avengers.

Indeed, I am not arguing that he isn't bad ass, because he is definitely the man. I just think it's dumb when people call him a "super" hero when he doesn't have any super powers.

They made an exception for Batman, because he is bad ass as Justin has stated. Still no super powers, therefore not a super hero.

There's a College Humor deal you can find on YouTube that spoofs how Batman's not a superhero...by basically making him have good intentions with no ability to handle actual supervillains. His "fight" with (I think) Darkseid is hilarious.

Not as good as the Batman's Drinking Problem one, but still good.

Agree 100%. I had a ton of Batman comics, but just as many Spider-Man so that's a wash. Could never get into Superman (for the reasons you mentioned) and the films have NOT held up well over the years aside from Williams' awesome score in the first. The only other DC comic book character I had was Green Lantern, and I think one year I got a Flash comic book for my birthday. Whereas in Marvel I had a bunch of X-Men, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Avengers, etc. (some of these movies were crap as well, but the comics were much better). Unless one really, really favors Batman, I don't see how it is close. The marvel comics are less campy and have far more mature storylines.

I recently saw a top 100 comic book heroes countdown and thought for sure Spider-Man or Batman would be number 1 but of course it ended up being Superman and that just irked me.
