Oracle/SAP

    Anyone have knowledge of Oracle/SAP?

How did you learn? What do you recommend for someone who is pretty 'green' on these subjects to learn? Resources, classes, books, training seminars, etc..

I basically need to get a basic/working knowledge of either/or.

    Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you can find free tutorials. Have fun with that shit.

Ugh. We have to use SAP at work. Hate that shit. They brought some guy over from India to train us in classes. But they also mentioned that they had virtual classes online. You could try that route.

sorry homie my limited knowledge of that shit is through in house training.

We have Oracle here, and my work has put me through 10-12 Oracle training classes to help me get familiar (the only Oracle I had before this job was 1 Oracle 9i SQL class in college). Now I am a pretty experienced Oracle PL/SQL developer after less than 3 years on the job. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'll see if I can help!

smh, they dont teach you that at OSU?

You went to OSU, therefore you never need help again with anything.

Thanks, I will probably have multiple questions.

Anyone worth their salt knows you can't learn everything in college. OSU has been amazing to me, but I was only there for 4 years.

I have a great one. I am just enjoying dogging you out! When does your class start? Better get busy and quit hanging around the OC!

Go study your manuals. Maybe that will help you get to the good life.

Also I recommend you find whoever made SAP and bludgeon them with a shovel. We have it at work and I hate it.

We had our own home written ERP we used before that made much more sense for our processes since our IT guy had written the damn thing himself, then the company was bought out and we have SAP, which blows.

I use SAP at work and have gone through the SAP super user (cool story bro...) training. When you get your hands on the program if you have any questions I can try to help out. I guess my specialty is in Business Warehouse but I can assist with ECC (RP1) and Advanced Planning Optimizer (AP1) as well.

Or hold them hostage till they make it less technical and more user friendly!

I was going to make a smart comment on you having not been taught something at OSU, but its pointless, plus why would someone teach that at college. I really have nothing to add, other than you SAP haters are dead wrong. As an auditor, getting information from an accounting system is 10x easier with SAP than anything else I've seen. Now this is just for the accounting function, so I'm not sure about other uses of it.
