I didn't graduate from OU. -

Since I have not met you, I cannot vouch for you in any of my contacts. However, I will look around and see if anyone is looking for a recent graduate from a premier university. It'll probably be in sales, but honestly, criminology is pretty hard to market outside the field of criminology. -
justincredibleI can offer you an unpaid moderator position.

Sales is pretty uninteresting to me. I'm really open to ideas at this point. Honestly, nothing is really keeping me in Ohio.
Can I use it on my resume?justincredible;801308 wrote:I can offer you an unpaid moderator position. -

J/k bro. -
Pick6Now i know why you get butthurt in enders threads.
Why did you change your major to something you have no interest in using? The only difference between that and dropping out of college is that you wasted money by staying.
Sleeper, shouldnt he be offered some 100k job just coming out? I mean he did go to osu and all.. -

Not with a degree in criminology. -

Yeah, your degree is pretty field specific. -

The Criminology degree at OSU is pretty generic. I could have double majored in Sociology/Criminology if I took a few more classes. -
LJChase.
How much you wanna make? You can get in at an entry level job for ~$15 hour with full bennies -

Join the Military -

I have no desire to join the military. Though, the degree would put me leaps and bounds ahead of most people.
As for what I make, I'm impartial. Been searching for IT jobs all day.
Cyber crime would be perfect, but there isn't shit for jobs like that, at least from what I can tell. -
iclfan2Honestly who cares if you don't like criminology jobs. Apply to anything, even if it is in criminology and then work for a year. It will build your resume and let you know if you like it or what you'd want to do. No wonder so many people are jobless, you can't be this picky in this economy. You think everyone likes their jobs?

Best advice right here. -

hear prostitution is always hiring. -

I was more-so asking where to look for jobs, not what I should do with my life. And I'm fully aware that people don't like their jobs. I have a shit job right now. -
thedynasty1998You need to ask parents friends and people you know personally. Just submitting your resume to a posting isn't going to get you a job. Better start kissing some ass and open to a $13/hour job.

To elaborate, the Internet may be a waste of time unless you are searching company websites directly. I don't know the stats but I'd imagine most postings get at least 25 applications in this economy, and that's small companies that don't use career boards.
I'd suggest printed job postings because they likely won't have as much competition and most are companies that are small enough that they won't have a career page on a website, if they even have that. -

Gotcha. In that case, don't forget about looking at Government websites for state jobs. My buddy works at the bureau of statistics and makes 30-40k, with little background in that area. I would imagine there are other entry level jobs available if you wanted to go that route. Being out of college now it is harder to network through career fairs and things like that. You can always check monster and other online job sites, not sure how efficient it is though. Other than that, network through people you know, still the best way to get a job imo. -

Also, find some temp agencies. You could probably find some IT jobs that way -
dlazzYeah, I've been looking at government/state postings for stuff. I've only put out a handful of applications though.
When you say "print" job postings, are you referring to newspapers and such? -

This sounds like terrible advice. Reputable companies will almost exclusively only accept online applications (either through a website or emailing HR a resume and cover letter)
