TV Shopping

We are in the market for a new TV - the last one we've purchased was about 12 years ago. We are looking in the 55"-60" range, and want a high quality picture for a decent price, 3d probably not necessary. Not sure of any other details we need to consider.

Where are the best stores? Are online sites considerably cheaper? Any other suggestions? Thanks

Amazon is one of the best online retailers. If you order one that is shipped out from Amazon you get 30 days to decide if you like it. If not, send it back at no charge to you. No questions asked. Also, go plasma. I recommend Panasonic but my neighbor just bought a 50" LG Infinia and it is sweet.

I would go with amazon as well, but I prefer LED if you can swing it.

I'd go with a Panasonic Plasma...

if you don't have surround sound you'll be sorely disappointed in the sound of a Samsung. the picture is great.

a high end Vizio is also very nice (like the XVT). but for the price you can get a Samsung or a Panasonic which are a little better.

Thanks for the info!! We've read there could be glare issues with plasma? There are a decent amount of windows in the room.

I've got no issue with mine and there are two windows in the room.

if you're ballin on a budget go plasma
BUT, if you can rock it, go LED. I have 2 sharp aquos LED's 55 and 60.....both rock....I've had the 55 a year and have had zero issue. The 60 spud'd out about a week and a half ago, but SHarp was awesome and my new on is on the way. I bought both at HHGREGG
