majorsparkHe definitely screwed up by not notifying dispatch. Sounds like a stern verbal reminder would be in order. Definitely should not have been fired. Unless there is a history of these types of screw ups.

I think the story ended in the correct punishment... It should be a learning experience, not a reason to fire a seasoned police officer who acted in response of shots fired and two cops down. -

No, he means the punishment that was suggested by the last quoted in the article, that he be reprimanded only unless he had a history of failing to be where he said he was, etc. -
