Are parents really this dumb?

  That they have to be told that roughhousing is natural and good? And that they have to be taught how to roughhouse with kids?
  
  You can observe "roughhousing" in young animals (cats or dogs for example) and kids will do it of their own free will. Did people really not think there was some benefit to it even though we seem to do it innately? Really, roughhousing helps kids be more physically well adjusted? Really, contact with humans helps kids be more emotionally well adjusted? If only I wasn't a moron and could have figured that out myself... derp.
  
  Stuff like this makes me weep for humanity.
  
  I know my brother (and sometimes sister) and my friends roughhoused all the time... not because some expert told us to or our parents forced us to. But because it's fun and we had fun roughhousing with or dad as well. Climbing, being thrown all that stuff. One of my favorite things was being throw by my dad while in the pool or jumping off his shoulders... sadly, most pools now ban those activities.
  
  People do definitely "over parent" their child and try to regulate it too much. Sometimes you just have to let kids be kids, get hurt, play rough, make mistakes. But they have fun while doing it. There is no secret formula or schedule for childhood. When you reach the point where you have to practice roughhousing and schedule time for it... you've screwed up big time.

  Bwahahahahahahahahaha, that might have been the dumbest thing I have ever laid eyes on! We are born with instinct to be physically active, we used to have to use our learned skills to hunt and provide and protect what was ours! Now, in some places it is ok to be less masculine if your a boy.

  Pfft...my nephews were getting suplexed, DDT'd, hip tossed and various other professional wrestling moves on their parents bed, by me, when I babysat them when they were 5. They LOVED it and always wanted to roughhouse MORE. Today's society is a bunch of whiny woo, touchy feely, namby pampy pussies.

  When I wrestled in high school I used to come home and practice throws, holds, etc. on my seven year old sister. Flash forward eight years later and the boy next door was flirting with my sister and trying to wrestle her. My sister, who did not wrestle in high school and was a prissy little thing, performed a beautiful single leg take down with an ankle pick, putting the young lad on his back within seconds. I was never more proud!
