Question re: Digital Cameras

  I know you what a high # for megapixels as this results in better/clearer pictures, but what should you look for when you're interested in the speed of a digital camera - i.e., the ability to snap one picture and immediately snap another high-quality image, and again-and-again.
  
  I have an old digital camera, and while it takes decent pictures, if I try to take, say, 5 pictures in the span of 15-20 seconds, it basically throws up on me.
  
  Any help?

  Digital SLR cameras. 3-7 pics a second. Entry level will snap 3@ 10+ megapixels. Cost around 500 with an 18-55mm lens included.

  I am far from being an expert, but I do know there is a lot more that goes into the quality of a digital camera than just the mega pixels. The quality of the lens is also very important. I'm sure there are other things but not much more help. I guess my point is to not just focus on the megapixels. The marketing people would like that, but it's not that simple.

  Something tells me that this is a big, bulky camera. I should have specified... I'm only interested in a pocket size digital camera.

  Chances are you're going to be looking for a high FPS (frame per second) rate camera. Be advised that higher FPS camera will ultimately produce a lower resolution picture. Maybe look for a point and shoot camera that has a continuous shooting mode? It will speed up the time between shots. My camera has it, and it's a Canon SD (purchased around 2005 I believe?).
