Buying eyeglasses online
-
McFly1955I just got another order of 3 pairs of eyeglasses (have to blow this flex spending account on something), my total = $108.61
I've worn contacts since I was in 6th grade, I'm 25 now and my eyes have just felt worn out over the past few years, so I decided that I need to start wearing glasses a lot more.
At the end of last year I bought 2 pairs, 1 from Costco ($175) and one from eyebuydirect.com ($50). I've worn them both extensively and gradually just starting wearing only the ones I bought online --- more comfortable and I could see better with them slightly.
My recent order was from zennioptical.com --- 3 different styles for an average of about $35 shipped (includes anti reflective and a slightly thinner lens than the default lens offered). The build quality is pretty good, not what you would pay $400 for in the states (these are shipped from China), but for like 90% off, I will do it again....
Just thought I'd pass it along to those still paying $400 for a pair of eyeglasses...it's worth a shot.
This is where I first started reading about this online at the end of last year. http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com/

Hb31187I work at an optometrists office...and youd be surprised how many people come in and just get the exam done and cheap out on glasses, to go to costco, sears optical ect. Then come back like 6 months later to get glasses because they realized the glasses they got at that great cost were a p.o.s lol

I'd believe it, but it worked out well for me..One of the pairs I got feel a bit cheap and poorly constructed, the other2 are awesome and have the super bendable arms that pop right back into place, really comfortable..Hb31187;783335 wrote:I work at an optometrists office...and youd be surprised how many people come in and just get the exam done and cheap out on glasses, to go to costco, sears optical ect. I'd say it's worth the $30 gamble.
I haven't bought a pair of glasses from an eye doc's office in probably about 5 years --- frame was like $150, Lenses were like $100, and anti scratch/anti reflective was like $90 additional....Is that still about right, or have prices come down to earth a little? -
I Wear PantsOnline is the way to go. There are several reputable online places that do that and assuming you've got the correct prescription should be just fine. It's nice to be able to have a few pairs of glasses instead of one because they're so expensive.

happyhappyI ordered 2 pairs of progressive eyeglasses from Zennioptical.com. The eyeglasses are perfect. Actually I had trouble figuring out which index to order at the very beginning, but their LIVE chat representative helped me out. Up to now, I have no problem with their eyeglasses. I will definitely buy more from Zenni in the near future.
