The kid names thread

justincredibleSince there seems to be a booming discussion on unusual kids names in the other thread I figure I'd start this to get that thread back on track.

justincredibleMy wife and I have agreed on a system for naming our kids once we finally have one. If it's a boy I come up with a list of three names (first and middle) and she picks one of them. If it's a girl she comes up with the list of three and I pick one. We'll see if it actually works that way, though. She doesn't seem to like the boy names I come up with. I'm a big fan of the name Clarence (great-grandfathers name, died when I was a baby) but she can only picture an old black man with that name. If we do have a son his middle name will most likely be Melvin which was my grandfathers name.

I have also heard La-a pronounced Ladasha.
I recently heard a story about a girl who let her sister name her twins so the aunt named them "Denise" and "Danephew"
and someone named twins Lemonjello and Orangejello -

Yeah, uh...sorry about that.
So anyway, I had always heard the joke about a kid named Shithead (not pronounced shit-head, you know). Then I actually saw a Shithead firsthand while working at a hospital in Delaware a few years ago. It was an older Indian lady. -

Are you going to choose your last name or let her have sex with someone else? -

You have to come up with the last name too? Like, you have to guess who the father is? -

Oops. lolfail -
Raw Dawgin' itanything with a De, La, Ja, Jer, Ma in front of an other wise normal name. I like one syllable names that aren't unisex. Ironically i have a long name that is unisex.

justincredibleI've fixed it. But yeah, my wife is a whore.

vball10setFemale (pronounced Fem-AH-ley), since it was on the pink card on the incubator, she thought the hospital had already named her baby

j_crazyalso JC's system is retarded. i want my kid to be named Howard Thomas, but my wife hates that name.
Using your system I'd come up with Howard Thomas, Jugdish Naveen, and Consuelo Rodrigo. She'd be forced to pick my name or face a lifetime of ridicule as I'd berate our kid daily if his name was Jugdish or Consuelo. -

We've both promised not to do that. Obviously if I come up with one normal name and two ridiculous names she's not going to pick any of them. -

you trust the woman who's sleeping around on you?

justincredibleFor girls names I really like Jacqueline and Evelyn. My wife won't go for Jacqueline because there are already two women in my family with that name (grandma and cousin). She likes Evelyn but I don't think it's one she'll put on her list.
