Now this is REAL man huntin... right there!

Primitive hunting. No pussies here. Go after a wild bore with a spear. Wrestle around with it. Cuss in it's ear!
The primitive hunting movement uses time-tested methods, making arrows with stone tips to take down deer and coyotes, using roughly hewn spears to hunt wild boar and even the use of bare hands to catch a fish.

I haven't done any primitive hunting but I have gone catfish grabbing. I got scratched up and bit but i'd probably do it again.

I've always thought dudes who consider hunting shooting a deer from 50 yards away with a shotgun were really grasping at straws. If you take down a bear or a buffalo with a spear then feel free to come off like a badass. Shooting a deer from a tree stand is something you do while wearing heels and a mini skirt.

Our early ancestors would shake their heads at modern "hunters". There is no danger involved in hunting today outside of shooting yourself in the leg or falling out of your tree stand. Go shoot deer or bunnies but don't act like it makes you a badass please.

I'd be willing to bet that our "early ancestors" didn't hunt the way they did because they thought it was manly or pure, but that's the only way they were capable at the time and I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't be "shaking their heads", but quickly jumping on board with the way we hunt now. I mean considering it's less likely they'd be killed now as opposed to then!

My question for this version of hunting is, (and I'm sure I'm going to labeled as some sort of tree hugger or whatever), how humane is it? I'd imagine the death by a thrown spear or a primitive bow wouldn't be as quick as it would be with modern technology!

In my former hillbilly days, we used to go yank snapping turtles out of creek banks.

Thread title is misleading. Makes it sound like they're hunting humans ala "The Most Dangerous Game".
