In my experience, people in college who get all worked up about the behavior of the cops are missing the point. He got mad because I said OSU parties degenerate to mayem. I wasn't meaning literally every single party, but the huge street fest type things. He took that personally and dropped and f-bomb over it.
Dumb people like Toby tend to do that. It's not his fault, though. Much like a retarded person doesn't know he's retarded, Toby is content in his own little reality. -

1) You go out into the street with your drink
2) There is a fight
Pretty simple.
This, times a million.
Dr Winston O'Boogie;772614 wrote:Okay buddy. Take a debate class so you can give big boy retorts in the future.
I should clarify that I didn't mean every OSU party ends up that way. However over the years, giant street parties left unchecked lead to trouble. I've seen it happen over and over again, including my time in school there. If you don't like that, I don't know what to tell you.
My bigger point is regardless of what you think about the police, you can just about guarantee yourself avoidance of trouble with them if you take certain precautions. Don't find yourself in the street when they're clearing it, don't throw bottles at them, don't act like a beligerant jerk. You can argue about how unfair the police are until the cows come home. The fact is that it makes no difference what you think about it. If your out drinking at a party, you better think through your actions. Do that and you'll never have to worry.
Take a spelling class.
For a debate expert, you're making yourself look pretty dumb for all of the assumptions you're making. I've been to more parties on campus than I can count and I've only seen a handful of occasions that required the police to come in and end it. It happens, but you make it sound like Ohio State students area a bunch of uncontrolled mindless alcoholics. Get the fuck out of here with that mentality.
I never said the cops overreacted. Hell I believe I said that I didn't go because I was cognizant of police protocol with "fests." If you do stupid things, you get busted; but the vast majority of people on campus get drunk, go to Charlie Bear, and then eat some Cane's and get laid. Nothing to get your panties in a bunch over.

You sir, strike me as a person who has no friends and has never been to a party.
Here, enjoy this:

Steel Valley FootballIs slipping it in your moms back door considered a party?
-
Tobias FünkeThat was weak. I'm supposed to be the kid in this conversation?

Dr Winston O'BoogieToby, I'm not sure why you're so hostile about this. I clarified my point. But regardless, why do you get upset with someone you don't even know and drop and f-bomb? I hold and OSU degree; I'm very proud of the place. You're being defensive about nothing.

thedynasty1998I ask again, probation for an underage?

Zoltanthedynasty1998;773110 wrote:I ask again, probation for an underage?
He may be talking about a stayed sentence which is basically like probation. I got an underage in Ohio when I was 20 and was fined and sent to rehab, with jail time and a much larger fine “stayed” until I was 21. Had I gotten in trouble again before I was 21 the judge could have put me in jail and issued the larger fine. -
thedynasty1998I get that, but that's not probation. Probation is having a PO and checking in with him. Never heard of that for an underage.

One of my friends is currently on a 9 month probation from an underage, so yes it does happen. -

No, it was not weak. I gave it to her pretty hard actually. -
IliketurtlesYeah when I got my underage I was just supposed to stay out of bars though. I was told by my PO that if I got caught in a bar/club before I was 21 then I would be in jail for 3 days and I couldnt get the charge expunged from my record. I never had to go see this PO either but he had my picture and said he would go check out the bars in town from time to time. Never heard about going into a store that had alochol though that seems pretty retarded.

osudarby08Update....this weekends "Chittshow" part on Chittenden Ave. went from 300 people attending to about 4,000 as I type. According to kids who live on Chitt, the police came to their houses and said there will be no parking on the street Saturday and they will close it off to allow for a block party....Just as long as everyone stay in the yards.
If this actually happens, this will definitely be the craziest party at OSU in my 3 years here I'm pretty excited for Saturday night. -
namod65I'm going up to the Indians game Sat. afternoon. Then we're making the drive back to get to this party. Should be a good time.

I was busted at a party in Tiffin when a friend, who was 22, broke the law and they decided to bust everyone. The judge in Tiffin gave me a year of unsupervised probation, I turned 21 three months after the court date, but I remain "unable to go to bars and house parties" or I get six months in jail. Basically I just take precautions when I drink so I don't get involved with the police. -

Tobias FünkeNo, I broke the law. I never said I didn't. He was the one being an idiot and attracting unwanted attention in a small city like Tiffin--where they pay their bills off of fining the college kids. I could give a shit about it though as I consider it unjust. Show me someone who follows every law, and I'll show you a liar.
Sorry about the event guys haha it's just for the Chittshow. Already 6,000 people have said they're attending. Good lord. -
Steel Valley FootballExcept your post still seems to express that the police were somehow to blame for you breaking the law. You couldn't sound more foolish.
-
IliketurtlesYeah Tiffin is pretty lame like that. But normally unless people are being stupid then the Cops are semi respectful (depending on which ones they are) and how whoever answers the door acts.
Pretty crazy that Chittshow and ROTR are happening this weekend Columbus Cops should have some fun. -
SportsAndLady8fest at OU same night...last year had 13,000....when you get 13,000 at Chit, holla at me

I heard about that
Columbus cops would never allow it to get that big -

Lets be honest, most of the OSU crowd will be at 8 fest, and most likely they will have the most students of any school spending the night in Nelsonville in the drunk tank, lol
Kent usually makes a run for most arrests at OU events too. -

I could probably sound more foolish if I tried. Perhaps talk about fucking people's mothers or something...
You have something up your ass when it comes to alcohol. I get it. Calm down.

When my lawyer was talking to the prosecutor he looked at what officer arrested me and said "Well, he's known throughout the county as being the last guy you want being involved when there's alcohol." It was just what I wanted to hear. The judge accused me of being some incorrigible punk, went as far as requiring my mother to come (he was probably banging her too, right SVF?) and asked her if I was a good person hahahahah never mind the fact that I'm an Eagle Scout, have a 3.8 GPA in the Knowlton School at OSU, and other than this offense have a perfectly clean record. Some judges laugh when a big deal is made about underages, some don't. Life goes on...
