Belly35Journalism where have the gumshoe gone
Look at this cluster fuck journalism in the Osama Reporting.
From the description of the compound to the number weapons, the intent of the SEAL mission (killing only). So far I have hear nine accounts of the mission, four renditions of Obama involvement, four different takes on the when Osama was shot, the amount of resistant, number of weapon found can we get anymore distortion from the media.
Is this the fault of just poor journalism and the incompetency of those reporters? Does this administration lack the ability to be truthful, honest or does the fear of being politically correct skew the facts. The most transparent administration have blinder on? Is the up coming 2012 Election play heavy on what is to be revealed? Could it just be incompetency within the different braches of government to know what to do without authorization?
Have the media mogul favoritism presented them with mixed direction and confusion to go to print with facts?
Is this what journalism is now…. ?
America if you can’t depend on the American News networks for facts and truth what does that say about America?
We are so concerned about the image of America over the proof of death of one terrorist but have been missing the biggest picture of what America is all about “Truth in Journalism”
We would not be America if it was not for the truth, honesty of the age of print.
How long can we as America continue to accept this type of media butchery? -
tcarrier32at what point during the 20th Century have we ever had this "gumshoe" journalism that is apparently absent from todays society?
the fact that major news media outlet's do not report the same story, have biased views, and embellish details roots back to the turn of the 20th century. Nothing new. -
Raw Dawgin' itHow has the time or patience to read these long ass posts?

No, I'm not, to answer your question. However, how would you suggest going about fixing the situation? Government run news? No thank you, eventually someone smarter, more personable, and better funded than I will become fed up and start their own news outlets that attempt to remedy the situation. -
2kool4skoolNot everyone can be as clear and concise in their writing as you, just a curse you'll have to live with.

I Wear PantsI'd rather get a different story at most outlets than the same one at all outlets.
And with this thing of course they're going to all say different things because there's not a lot of official details so they're trying to use "insiders" and other ways to get the story which can result in hearing different parts of the story or even hearing made up parts. Really not that hard to figure out.
