Why I hate Words With Friends

I actually wondered why there wasn't something like this built into those games.

Don't get me wrong, it is quite fun. It is just infuriating to find yourself thinking about how to use words and then your opponent throws qi on the board for 65 points and you are left wondering what the heck happened.

qi is an accepted word apparently and is also the same word for chi, for the chinese belief in energy in all living things.

Thank you Imex, that sounds much better than wwf.

You're a liar if you don't use word generators to get those triple word scores when you have j's and z's.

Ha ha...good example. I've hit that double triple letter (qi down and across) a few times. In general, I look at the whole slop thing as evening the playing field. And just for full disclosure, I'm not all that smart and I thoroughly enjoy beating people who are even less smart, namely my wife's friends (I can only play on her phone so my options are limited).

I don't think he'll mind playing any of you, in spite of his slop and win at all cost approach, I am confident he would handle most everyone on this board.

    Uh, yeah ya did.

Uhh no I wasn't. You are interpreting anger as condesention(sp).

Andykuhnnc for anyone wanting to play. Give something to do for next 6.5 hours on my drive to Ohio.

Just started a random game and the first word this person puts down is BRR. What a stupid douchebag.
  • Rotinaj
And their 2nd move was AH. I hate playing people that only use 2 and 3 letter words the whole time. Shits annoying.
  • NNN
The only thing that's annoying is not being to use house rules.

I believe that every player, once a game, should be allowed to play a made-up word with the following conditions:
    1) It must be a plausible word
    2) You must provide a plausible definition as you play the word
    3) Other players cannot add onto it to make it plural
    4) You cannot clear your rack in order to play something implausible.
    5) If you violate this, you lose your chance to play the made-up word for the game.

For example, "qum" is forever known as an iridescent endangered tropical fish. "Ktnkzxj" is not a word, nor a plausible word.

Android? If so, uninstall the game and install again.... they did recent your but doesn't work correctly unless you do the above suggested steps.

Wordfued is better but my favorite android scrabble game is wordsmith.

I started a random game with some lady on April 23rd, and it finally ended today because she hadn't made a move in 72 hours. 15 DAYS. And the game really wasn't anywhere near over...still had 15+ tiles left.

I started playing some girl last night, and her first few words were...Wan, Ors, Was, Nob, and Hoe. I'm up by 110 points on her.
I play Wordfeud mostly, my name is patrock10 if anyone wants to play.

I'm not necessarily "in it" for the best scrabble game (I actually hate scrabble) But it's fun to play my friends and pull the bullshit on them that the OP was referring to. I think he was secretly playing me.

I play words with friends and love it. Most words are universal, although Words With Friends uses a version of the "Enable" dictionary, which has a few shorter ones to enable for more exciting games. However, all the words you mentioned are real words and also valid in "real" Scrabble. Of course there are going to be words that some people have never heard of, so I understand your frustration when your friend used those words against you. LoL

    TOIT - http://www.anagrammer.com/scrabble/toit
to walk in a leisurely manner
Valid in Scrabble (US/Canada) and Scrabble (UK)

    GIP - http://www.anagrammer.com/scrabble/gip
    deprive of by deceit
Valid in Scrabble (US/Canada) and Scrabble (UK)

    GENOA - http://www.anagrammer.com/scrabble/genoa
    a triangular sail
Valid in Scrabble (US/Canada) and Scrabble (UK)

    FROE - http://www.anagrammer.com/scrabble/froe
    a cleaving tool
Valid in Scrabble (US/Canada) and Scrabble (UK)

By the way, if you want to verify words, get definitions, see if they're valid in "real" Scrabble, or simply cheat, you can use www.anagrammer.com (Enable dictionary).

agree with swami....searching the internet for 4 letter j words takes away the knowledge part

Words with friends however is the bane of my existence at the moment.

I am sick of people playing slop words on me in this game, simply throwing words on the board and hoping they stick. I feel there is little intellectual work involved by players when they just put letters up and hope it makes a word.

In my latest game a "friend" (soon to be former) played these nuggets

    -toit
    -gip
    -genoa
    -froe

There is no way on God's green earth that this simpleton is familiar with northern english slang (which I thought was against the game's rules), nautical terms, or antique farm equipment from the 17th century.

Persons who play words like this in scrabble or wwf are charlatans, or downright cheaters.
Hahaha Genoa! And lol you know theres an app you can get that finds the words for you? My one friend uses it all the time

Yeah....who can cheat the best. Fun
