We also played Butts Up. Basically you threw a tennis ball against a wall and who ever it bounced toward had to field it. No gloves. If the first person to touch the ball bobbled it at all or had the ball hit them, they had to drop the ball and sprint to the wall and touch it. If anyone else picked the ball up and threw it against the wall before the other guy touched it, it was an out. 3 outs and you had to stand against the wall, facing it and everyone got one throw at hitting you in the ass. Usually we'd say you couldn't throw it as hard as possible, but it was pretty fun to throw it hard and just miss them to scare them a little bit.
We played this in college. Called it Butt Ball. Loved that game. -
like_thatI thought it was called wall ball?

ZoltanDo they still let kid's play "peg rule" in kickball at school? I never thought about it growing up but it seems like something that could be banned these days. Heck, sometimes we would play first base, and instead of touching it peg the kid coming down the line if tensions were running high.

LOL, 10 players. We were lucky to have 3 on 3. -

Our key was the narrow angle field layout. We probably had about 45' bases and it was probably only 16' or so for the pitcher to get to 1B or 3B to cover. We liked those dimensions so much, we went out in an open field and laid out a ball field with the same dimensions with a 4' fence around the out field, but we hardly ever used it - it just wasn't the same fun game as with all the obstacles! -

Yeah, my yard had two trees, one on both sides. So, our 'bases' were about 100-150 feet apart and the yard went for a long time until you reached a ditch along the property line (over the dirt, which nobody ever hit, was a homer). The trick was with the long base runs (a squished diamond, much much close from 3rd to 1st than 2nd to home), you could tag someone much more easily. And fair territory was much much smaller because of it. I'd be surprised if it was 45-degrees or more. That's what you get for a long yard. -
darbypitcher22Now I have an itch to play. Closest thing we've got here on campus is to go up to the tennis courts w/ a broom handle and some tennis balls. Ground rules up there are pretty standard

redstreak oneMy boys 1st grade sitll plays that rule! lol
Se-alum, I grew up on the hill by the water tower. I now live in town, 1 block over from the church and school.
