Water Contamination in Toledo?
-
bigkahunaI got a postcard in the mail today with a 1-800 number on it. It said call us for a Water Update.
I call the number, and they said something that there was contaminated water in the Toledo area. He mentioned ecoli and radiation. So, the EPA is randomly selecting houses to come test the water in the area, and my house was chosen apparently.
I thought it was strange because 1. I have well water 2. I live in Bedford 3. the 1800 number was from Georgia.
I know there are a lot of other people in the Toledo area. Has anyone else heard of this. He asked what color the house was along with what color car would be in the driveway.
It all seemed a little shady to me. -

bigkahunaI don't think I can call TPD because I don't live in the state let alone the city. I'm calling the EPA office in Oregon in the morning. I might call the Bedford TWP people as well.
Maybe I'm making too big of a deal about it, but I just thought it was weird. When I mentioned possible shadiness on the phone, he got all defensive. I still have the postcard and everything, so I'll report it in some way shape or form. -
Laley23Id report it. If it is real, the city will now about it.
I live in Perrysburg, have not heard of anything like this. In fact, my water right now looks and tastes mighty fine lol. -
sleeperNo legitimate company would ask "What color is your house and what car is in your driveway?". They have your address, lol.
Report it to the BBB. -

Report it to the BBB.
When I said "Why do you need to know about my car, that sounds a little fishy..." He got defensive and said ~ "It's not like I'm asking if you drive a Mercedes or something, nobody's ever asked me that before..."
Like I said before, I'm calling the Oregon EPA and the BBB off of the links that were posted above. -
dwccrewSounds shady. You'd think the city of Toledo would know what households are receiving water services. I live in Toledo and have not heard of anything about water contamination.

this alone should raise a flag--let us know what the EPA or BBB says, would you please?bigkahuna;750221 wrote:I don't think I can call TPD because I don't live in the state let alone the city. I'm calling the EPA office in Oregon in the morning. I might call the Bedford TWP people as well.
