Van Damme Movies

  • atomica600
I've always been a fan of Van Damme movies. I watched Kickboxer this afternoon. Not my favorite (Bloodsport), but it's ok. "JCVD" is actually a pretty solid film if you ever get a chance to see it.

Anyone want to weigh in on this cinema icon and his movies? Best? Worst?

Van Damme was my favorite when I was growing up. Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Lionheart, Hard Target, Double Impact...... all classics!

Bloodsport is epic, but Sudden Death is so underrated.
Though, I have a soft sport for Hard Target. I guess it was the mullet.

    Bloodsport...hands down.

People think that he's a pussy, but he was a world class kickboxer back in the day. That would have ended badly for your friend.

I remember that one. Back when Rodman was supplementing basketball by showing his totally elite skillz at both pro wrestling and acting. A true golden age of entertainment.

    LIONHEART!

    ...Bloodsport is my favorite

Don't forget The Quest, which was essentially a lesser rip-off of Bloodsport. Some friends and I watched it one night. It brought the lulz. "Hey Jean, you don't rip other peoples' movies off...you rip your own off!"

Always a sucker for Death Warrant. Anytime that's on I'll get pulled into it.

It was my first R rated movie.

The best film of his isn't going to be a film.

Oops, thanks. I missed the top as I was fixated on Chong Li playing the drums. HAHA

where is he now ? I knew him a long time ago, he used to be a judge for Hawaiian Tropic bikini contests. Then Ron Rice's wife left him for Jean Claude.

Jean Claude's best movie was No Retreat... No Surrender. He played a Russian Karate Champ and got his butt kicked by a Bruce Lee wanna-be who was taught by the ghost of Bruce Lee (which in no way shape or form resembled Bruce Lee) at a Karate tourney after being forced to put an end to Van Damme's thugish ways. Great Movie... Check it out, I have it on VHS :)

I haven't seen too many mentions of Universal Soldier. I'm a big fan of that one too. Violent as all get out, plus you have Dolph Lundgren.

Evidently, JCVD is the voice of a character in Kung Fu Panda 2. That should be interesting.

Yeah I just remembered Universal Soldier, and Nowhere to Run. This thread really makes me want to find some of these movies right now.
