American Idol---Top7 and results show.

HitsRusAn overall good week all around....but someone is going to have to go home. Being "good" may not be enough.
My grades
Scotty....B...played it cute but safe. Not enough bang. He may taste the bottom 3.
James ...A+...set a new standard and distanced himself from a very good pack.
Casey...A-...Only real challenger to James tonite.
Haley....B+...the best of the rest, she hit all the notes tonite.
Lauren ...B...judges loved it...it was okay for me.
Stephano...B...tried to be more 'sexy'...as a guy, it was hard for me to tell if he pulled it off. The vocals were okay.
Jacob...B-...tried to pull off an emotional song dedicated to fathers...but it was pretty sleepy. Those that just don't 'get' Jacob may get there wish.
Bottom three
Jacob
Stephano
Scotty
....with Jacob going home. -
Belly35Bottom Three
Stephano .. he good but I don't think he comes across very good to the public
Jacob ... great voice but every week he selling something to the public ... America does not like life lesson weekly
On the bubble: Casey is a Taylor Hicks in brown jacket IMO .. talented but not American Idol material, selling the cutie and different agenda
Haley has been in the bottom every week .. I like her but she is not the talent of the others ...
I think Jacob will be going -

Almost she escaped a couple of weeks not going to the bottom 3. -
HitsRus^^^^well, she was spot on last nite. Next to Durbin, you could argue she was the the second best yesterday.
I think this is the nite we find out just how much intrinsic support Jacob Lusk has and if can survive probably his worst performance of the season. Others (especially Haley) have escaped....while others have not. -
THE4RINGZJacob was bad last night and partially blamed the sound system. Cmon man up and admit you dropped the ball. Making excuses makes you look more and more like an arrogant bastard when added to your comments about the Michael Jackson song. Your act is jaded.

tuskytuffguyPersonally, I hate the whiney singing Haley does. But, it wouldn't break my heart at all to see Scott get the boot.
-
Little DannyI think Jacob has done himself no favors two weeks in a row. The week before he pulled the race/homophobic card, this week it is the sound system. He's alienating voters this way and I think he will be gone in the next week or two.
I have a hunch Stephano's gone after tonight. He's been in the bottom just as often as Haley.
On a postive note, it was good to see the judges offer some constructive criticism last night, as opposed to just telling everyone how good they are. -
royal_kAnd Stephano goes home...not surprised. Although, I thought Scotty and Jacob were both pretty weak on wednesday and both of their performances were below Stephano's.
-
THE4RINGZI won't miss Stefano he was pretty predictable. I really hoped Jacob would get sent packing. I am keeping my fingers crossed for next week.

HitsRusI don't see Jacob lasting much longer even though I like him.
As others get eliminated, some of their support goes to the others remaining. I don't see Jacob picking up much additional support as the competition goes on.
I was okay with either of those guys going last nite. Stephano has been hanging on for weeks. One thing is for sure...if Jacob turns in another mediocre performance like the last two weeks, he'll be gone pretty quick.
Only six left. here's my opinion of how they rank.
James Durbin...clear odds on favorite.
Casey and Scotty...both pretty smart guys....both have learned there lesson not to play things too safe....one of them will be in the finals....I'm betting on Scotty.
Haley...has suffered from inconsiostency, and one of these weekls it's going to cost her.
Lauren... She's good, but just doesn't have enough to better the top guys....moreover, she comes in second to Scotty with the country music voters.
Jacob...the guy has 'the chops' and the vocals.... but has been in a slump lately...also kind of a 'niche' vocalist that doesn't have wide support.
They will be singing Carole King songs next week.
I would think this would help Lauren and maybe Scotty
gonna be real tough for Casey and James
...and I can't figure whether this is good or bad for Haley and Jacob.
I'll be really curious to see what james and casey come up with. -

I agree with a lot you said here. AI is all about the voting blocs. Actually, Stephano being voted off would help Jacob IMO. Stephano sung a lot of 1990's R&B and as a result, split some of the vote from people who like the style of music away from Jacob. Now that Stephano is no longer there to sing Boys II Men hits, the only one they will identify with will be Jacob. In regards to Lauren/Scotty, they split a similar vote as well, that is rural whites in the midwest and south. Whoever is the one to remain from these two have a really good shot at winning it all because they will take all the votes from the other.
With all this said, I see Haley and Casey being the most vulnerable in the next couple weeks (again, I think Jacob will benefit from the stimulus of Stephano voters).
