Shake mixes

  • bigdaddy2003
So I started taking this protein/diet shake mix with my cousin last May and after a couple months in my cousin said he was reading online and found that it contained oxidized cholesterol and he quit taking it. He made up his own mix and we both started taking it. Well after a couple of weeks I didn't feel like I was doing as good on his so I went back to the other one. Well now I have lost over a hundred pounds and I am starting to go to the business conventions for this mix because I found out I was good at pushing the product. It's going to be hard to keep hiding that I am still on the mix and that I am selling it pretty soon. I looked online and I couldn't find anything that he read but maybe someone on here is a little smarter in the health area or searching for info on the net than I am. The product is called Visalus. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I don't want to push a product that is unhealthy.

Let me guess your cousin got you to "sign up" now you need to get others to join in.

    Hello pyramid scam!!

    Hello pyramid scam!!

It's definitely a pyramid deal but my cousin didn't get involved for the business aspect of it. It's not so much of a scam either. People are getting paid and free BMW's for their success.

Yeah I had a friend deep into the Movavie juice "wonder drink" BS. Signing people up for $120 a month for juice and expecting others to "build the business."

No doubt....the people at the top are getting paid.

Yeah, it's crazy but I went to a convention this past weekend and watched them give BMW's and checks to the people who do well. Not just the top people but oh well. If I signed up to be a distributor right now I would be getting 4 weekly checks and 1 monthly. They wouldn't be a lot but it would be money for doing nothing. I'm just saying it's a pyramid deal but I don't think it's the usual scheme unless the mix really is horrible for you. I just need to know if my cousin is right and the mix is unhealthy before I push it anymore.

So you are going to sign up to be a distributor?

Was this in Cinci? Guy I work with sells it and was there. Straight pyramid though!

Who fucking cares if it us distributed through some MLM company, if the shit works it works.

I wasn't saying I cared, I was asking if he was going to sell it.

Fab, yes the convention was in Cincy.

The shake mix works but if it has oxidized cholesterol in it then I most certainly want to quit taking it. The business end of it is most certainly not bullshit though. I assure you that I know people who are making money and I watched the 40 or 50 people walk away with keys to their BMW's last weekend. It is definitely a pyramid deal but not a scheme that I have seen yet.

Karen, if I find out that it's healthy I will most definitely become a distributor.

Edited: Do your thing, just don't lose money.

I couldn't find anything on it through a quick searching and I'm pretty good at finding things.

    cool, sent you a PM.
  • Automatik
So how is it set up? You sign up for a monthly fee? Then build your "leg" by getting others to sign up...and so on and so on?

Eventually it will die. That's the nature of the beast.

Oh yeah I wasn't saying it won't fade away eventually but if I can bank some loot for doing absolutely nothing I may as well take advantage of it.

Well you pay 50 bones once and then the more people that sign up the more you get each check.
  • Automatik
So the only money you invest is your 50? No monthly thing?
  • Fab1b
The problem with any of these schemes is to get people to fork over money and sign up. Now trust me there are no doubt alot of suckers out there but something like this is not for me. I am not a salesman and you have to be pretty good at convincing people to sign up for pryamids. If you can do it, more power to you!

From my experience the guys making money were annoying dbags who couldn't take no for an answer. I gave him my time, read all about his shit product and declined. He called/texted me for weeks to come "talk about the business." I finally had to be like "Hey I'm sorry I can't sell something that I don't buy into myself so kindly fuck off."

My one friend dumped around $1500 in the whole thing and eventually walked.

What about a deal where you aren't selling anything, but instead having people signing up to save money on utilities that they already pay for?
  • THE4RINGZ
Yeah maybe I am a little defensive about the whole pyramid thing. One of my good childhood friends is a big player in the Amway business. He is cashing huge checks every month. Huge new house he paid cash for, always driving new luxury rides, even walked away from his job.

Does it work for everyone? Obviously not. I know he put years of work into it to get to where he is at.

Did he "take advantage" of people? Probably no more so than any other business owner does. If you think your insurance agent, your stockbroker, or your local GNC guy aren't interested in keeping you as a client because they are making money from your business then you are really naive. Money is what keeps this world afloat.

One caveat, I am not part of any MLM business, just not my cup of tea. But I have seen it work fest hand for those who are willing to do the work.

That is legit. I can't think of the place who does it in Cbus. Its 100% commish and I think you get $60 per sign up. Regardless....you're going door to door. F that.

Yeah, the going door to door part would be less than ideal.

Yeah, I don't see myself becoming rich from this business but like I said if I can pocket a couple hundred bones a month for doing nothing I will take it. I think I am a decent salesman and it kind of helps that I am walking advertisement for the product but with that being said shake mixes are way to hard to sell people on these days. When I decide to become a distributor I have a couple of friends who will hop right on board and become distributors and that will up my check. They won't do the shake but it's not necessity. They are just business oriented. I actually need the shake so it works for me both ways. I lose weight and have the opportunity to make money.
