Monday, January 4th.. The Monday Night Wars II

  • Trueblue23
Hulk Hogan just announced TNA will be airing on Mondays starting January 4th, head-to-head vs WWE Raw.. thoughts?

    Yawn.

TNA is gonna hurt themselves by doing this. They barely can score ratings equal to WWE's C show. Raw will blow them out of the water.

We'll just get all of the WWE rejects and take them down, brother.

Jan 4th... That's the night The Rock is rumored to guest host RAW ..... Could be some good comedy there if that's true

Stupid move. I've tried to view TNA as a viable alternative, but it just doesn't work for me for whatever reason.

Yeah..I agree..very dumb move..TNA is going to lose viewers by doing this.

Hogan announced just January 4th, not every week.

If the Jan. 4 RAW is actually entertaining because of this, I'm cool. I'll watch one and tape the other. Regardless of how this affects TNA, I'll be happy if it causes RAW to not go through the motions with the connect-the-dots formula they have most weeks. Out of all the mainstream shows (RAW, Smackdown, ECW, Superstars, Impact), RAW's become my least favorite because it's stagnant to the point where ANYTHING (ie: the Ventura show where a nobody like Sheamus got a title shot) that's outside the norm makes me want to give 5 stars.

There are rumors that Hogan will be bringing a big name superstar w/ him on Jan 4th! I think eventually they might give the WWE a run for their money, but that won't be anytime soon.
  • Tigerfan00
Im willing to bet that big name superstar is Flair
  • Lovejoy1984
The WWE is routinely at it's best from January-April. So this is truly a bad idea. Bringing in Flair won't do much for the long haul, you may see a temporary ratings climb but TNA has a long way to go to be any kind of competition to the WWE.

If it is just one night, TNA will get a decent rating but that rating could nosedive big time if the Rock does indeed host Raw that night. Over the long haul, TNA just cannot compete with WWE. Hogan doesn't draw anymore and neither does Flair so it's a moot point for either of those two and the attendance for his tour proves it. And Roller hit the nail on the head about WWE during Jan-April as two of the biggest PPV's of the year happen in that time with the Royal Rumble and Mania.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see another Monday Night War, but TNA has a long way to go before they are a viable opponent for the WWE.

TNA struggles to sell out crowds to their PPV's and they go to arenas that only hold 2 or 3 thousand people.

Even with WWE's shitty product now-a-days, TNA will still fail miserably.

Will be the biggest mistake they have ever made and it will lead to their downfall.
