Do you give blood? What blood type are you?

  I am sort of ashamed that I am 26 and have never given blood, so I am going to give it a try at lunch today. I am also curious as to what blood type I am. So what is the OC's blood type and anyone regularly give blood? I have read many good things regarding the health benefits of giving blood so I am thinking about doing this regularly.

  I give blood every time I can. I have one of the rarer types and I get calls from the Red Cross to donate every time I'm up (I think every 3 months?).

  I gave blood twice a year for 30 years plus, up until 8 years ago. I had cancer, also found I had sugar dia. along with high blood pressure... (Bad year)
  I have beaten the cancer twice, the sugar Type II I still have but I have been losing wieght, working out and controlling my diet ... my sugar level has dropped little above normal level and my blood pressure is also under control.
  
  I should ask if I can give blood again but I still take some meds. so I would thing it not permitted.

  I gave blood a lot in college but I've stopped once I got out. The Red Cross still calls me everyday wanting me to donate.

  Tried to give blood but unfortunately do to having jaundice as a new born I am not allowed to give blood. Unless its changed anyways I havent checked in a few years.

  I used to give twice a year from the time I was 16 until I left college. I just gave about 6 weeks ago and it was the first time in a long time. I fainted after donating several years ago and was too worried to try again. The Red Cross was at the rec center I go to a couple months ago so I decided to try again. I didn't faint this time but I came close. I had to stay there and drink juice until I was feeling better. I am going to get back in the habit of giving regularly I think.
  
  I am AB neg which is the rarest blood type. The Red Cross loves me and calls me all the time. They also want me to donate plasma but they don't pay you so I doubt I will, lol. That's horrible.

  How do you even give plasma? I'm never heard of it.

  I didn't donate until a few years ago, but try to regularly now. I haven't in awhile due to being pregnant, and the few times I went before that I was denied due to low iron.

  I give blood regularly. I'm O+. I've had some issues with the major blood bank up here so I'm looking for alternatives--not a lot of fun.

  Had to dig out my old broken in half Red Cross card....I'm A+. Haven't given blood in about a year though so I'm past due to go and give.
  
  I feel bad for those who have issues after giving blood. It always seems that I'm asked if I'd like to give 2 units, which I always do (and believe me, that shit they pump back into you is COLD.) Even then, I stand up and grab a drink and a bite to eat and walk out 5 minutes later and am fine immediately after. Maybe it has something to do with me being a larger guy or maybe it has something to do with not being afraid of seeing needles in my arm or blood, I'm not sure.

  Gave blood durning and it was pretty quick and easy, filled the bag in a bout 5 minutes. I thought the figner prick hurt more than the needle in the arm.

  It's like giving blood but they seperate the plasma and then put the blood back in. Lol sounds weird.

  Some places do but the Red Cross does not. If I ever decide to do it I will go to a place that pays. I'm cheap.

  I think I gave blood 6 or 7 times with no problems before the time I fainted. I have no idea how or why...it just happened. I had eaten a good amount that day and was feeling fine. I was sitting there afterwards drinking some juice and everything went cloudy. There was a Red Cross volunteer at the table with me and he tipped my chair back before I fell over or anything. This last time when I felt faint it was before I even got off the table. I just had to lay there with wet towels on my head and stomach. I felt dumb, lol. I don't know what changed from when I used to give because I never had any issues.

  I used to give a couple times a year but now I can't. Apparently I consumed beef in Europe during the mad cow scare in the late 80s.

  A-, our school has a blood drive every year and I give every year. This year they had a new machine that allowed them to take 2 pints. They take a pint, then it serperates what it needs and puts it back and takes again. It was a strange feeling, kinda cold feeling running up my arm.

  I don't like giving blood due to the amount of valves in my veins, and it fucking sucks when I have to go to the hospital when I have an IV. It took 4 tries the last time.
  
  Also, the first the time I gave blood the nurse from Red Cross fucked up my arm bad. She got the needle stuck in one of my veins and the needle would not come out. My entire left forearm was black and blue.

  Giving plasma is a really weird feeling. I'm fine with giving blood, but doing the plasma thing made me nauseous and almost pass out.
