Medifast vs Nutrisystem vs....?

bases_loadedAnyone used any of these programs or recommend one over the other? Im 27 and want to lose 15-30 lbs. With the nicer weather I plan on working out more but want to get better discipline on my meals. Also Im on the road about 2 days a week so that always put a damper on eating habits, so if one is better for traveling let me know. Also these are just two that I've heard about. If someone has any other suggestions Im willing to look into them.
-Over/Under on people saying just eat better and workout is at 5....I get that, I just want something to get me eating right. -

Don't do any. Check these out. You can do it for free too. Well i don't plan on stopping. Had one of those realization moments recently and just was asking for suggestions on getting back in the groove and then staying on it. Thanks for nothing though -

lol I hope so. Just a pet peeve of mine when i see seasonal exercisers. The worst is the new years resolution posers, or the spring break posers. I honestly wouldn't do nutrisystem, or medifast. Too expensive when you can diet yourself. I suggest eating 6 small meals a day. I suggest getting this book http://www.amazon.com/Core-Performance-Revolutionary-Workout-Transform/dp/1594861684, and follow how to diet properly with 6 small meals. It tells you what is good and bad to eat, and even maps out a couple eating schedules for you depending on your daily schedule -
pinstriperIf you're doing P90X, you will lose that weight. I'm on week 11 right now and have lost 13 lbs without trying. My suggestion is to follow the portion plan diet: it's simple and you can find foods that you enjoy and still get into shape (i'm not talking cheeseburgers and fries, but protein shakes, protein bars, chicken, stuff like that). You will be eating plenty to keep your appetite satisfied.

HereticI'm starting to work on the dieting and stuff a bit. At least coming up with a viable plan that will work for a more long-term goal. The big first step was to actually go to a grocery store for the purpose of stocking my kitchen with food, so I'd have no remotely legit reason to rely on fast food or anything like that. Both for the overall health benefit and for the size of the portions. I can cook a hamburger at home if I want one and I won't be adding the huge calorie amounts from unnecessary sides like french fries.
The main thing with what you said was an uncooperative schedule that includes a couple days on the road. Would it be possible to have a small cooler in your vehicle with, say, a sandwich and a couple pieces of fruit in it? Because if you're looking to drop some weight, just going from "I'm hungry, time to hit Mickey D's" to "I'm hungry, time for that cold cut sandwich and apple I brought with me" should have some results. -

On a paleo/primal diet, the Wendy's BLT Chicken Cobb Salad is a pretty good if you are in a bind. 200 of the calories are the packs of dressing. But it has lots of protien and only 15 grams of carbs. Other than that I will go to a mexican place and get fajita's with no rice/beans/tortilla or a BBQ place and get pulled pork/chicken (no sauce) and a salad. Looking up stuff like that for those times where eating out is a necessity might be a good idea. At least in avoiding falling into stupid traps like Lucifer's Meal* at Wendy's.

Agree, unfortunately that is the only meal including salads I found under 20 carbs. From McD and Wendy's. -

j_crazyi've been on medifast for 2 weeks and have lost 26 lbs. and i cheated both weekends. my goal is to be down 50 by september looks like i could blow that away.
it's really easy and other than the lemon meringue bars, everything tastes pretty good.
and i realize that my eating problem was beyond just eating less, i am a big ole fatty and was and still probably am addicted to food. hopefully this program gets me to a point where i can start over and do the right things. it's not the cure for me. -
ZoltanI have been seeing alot of people getting on the paleo/primal diets recently. What is the difference between these and Atkins? Seems like they both are all about cutting carbs.

Where did I say I was greater than him? I agree people who think they are better than other people because they are in shape are douche bags. I make fun of those people, they normally go to the gym and lift in cutoffs. Maybe it's a pet peeve to me, because this country is so fucking fat, and it's a huge problem. I am all for people getting into shape so our country doesn't look like a bunch of fat slobs, but it is never going to happen with all the bullshit food that is offered, and all the wrong ways people go about trying to lose weight (i.e. working out only when its warm, eating only 1 meal a day, etc). Why don't you cry somewhere else or post your fail comments such as saying the roman empire were during the Medieval period. -

You just have to keep a lifestyle similar to what you were doing while using the system in order to maintain the weight loss, or you will gain it back even quicker than you lost it. -

It's ok to cheat once a week imo. It's a good mental approach. If you have one cheat day you are less likely to crave to cheat on your diet the rest of the week.
