Dear Sprint / Boost / Nextel / Virgin Mobile subscribers,
ESPN Alerts are no longer available from your carrier. We apologize for the inconvenience, however, our service is available across most other US Carriers.
i used this for all my sports alerts....makes me mad! -
friendfromlowry95% of ESPN texts I receive I could do without. Case in point: The two they sent me last night stating that: Notre Dame was about to beat UConn in women's basketball and then the second one said Notre Dame DID beat UConn.
I'll never forget the day last Summer I was woken up by one stating Adam Dunn had signed with whoever...the White Sox I think. I about threw my phone. -

The ones about the women's bball game make sense because it is a big deal and a break sports news alert. I do agree that some are stupid when some random coach or player gets traded or signs a contract. If I'm a fan of either team, I want to know that right away, but as a general sports fan something that specific isn't major news. I was also confused the other day when I got a text from ESPN telling me who had won the Cricket World Cup. Cricket? Really ESPN? -
ernest_t_bassI just get score alerts from my teams.
Dolphins - Every scoring play and final score.
Reds - Every scoring play and final score.
Buckeye Football - Every scoring play and final score.
Ballet - Nude lockerroom photos -

And with Miami's 17ish points last year, you probably didn't have to worry about too many Sunday updates, did ya! heh heh heh... -

No. No I didn't. No, I did not. -
THE4RINGZI used to use this service, and it does come in handy if you are no where close to a television, radio or other means of communication. I would get scoring updates after the game had ended. I guess nothing is perfect.

thavoiceUsed to get it through but stopped it. if I wanna know the score I will fire up the web and on my home page has all my fav teams and the scores. I got tired of getting texts late at night when the Reds or Pens were playing out west.
Plus...many times they were quite a bit behind. -

This except for different teams (I do get the Ballet updates) and I only get half time/final or every 3rd inning/final scores. Don't need every scoring update.ernest_t_bass;733496 wrote:I just get score alerts from my teams.

I would have been okay with one or the other, but both? I guess the more logical one would have been "Notre Dame leads UConn by ten with 7:15 left to play" or whatever it said, that way if I wasn't already watching, then I could. They haven't sent me one saying the women's title game is tied up at 66 with <4 minutes to play. That seems a little odd to me. I understand UConn was the juggernaut of women's college basketball this year and people would want to watch them lose. Maybe they just shouldn't have texts about women's basketball? -
gerb131I get Reds/Indians/Buckeyes/breaking news alerts.

saltoESPN blows...for baseball coverage, all they talk about is the Red Sox or NYY. For football its the latest Favre or who is in trouble with the commissioner. NBA....well who really cares? Pro Sports daily is a better site and I don't need alerts if I'm watching my teams with the Directv packages
