Time Warner Cable and Wireless Routers
-
wildcat87I have Time Warner cable and We can not find a Wireless Router that works. We have had TWC come out and they do not know why the Belkin Router I have does not work. My brother in law brought his over a better quality Router and it does not work as well. Of course TWC wants me to get the one they sell. If you have TWC do you use your own Wireless Router and if so what brand.

dlazzOP didn't specify what about the router isn't working.
I had a WRT54GL with DD-WRT and sold it and upgraded to a wireless N router, also running DD-WRT. Works just peachy. -

If you have tried multiple routers and can't get your computer to connect you may want to consider the possibility that the problem is with your computer and not with the router. -
Scarlet_Buckeye(Explitive) Time Warner inhales royally.

This could be an issue with the wiring of your cable. This was an issue I had when I changed the location of my wireless router. I moved it to a different room and had the same issue you are having. I fixed it by tapping the line when it comes into the house and dedicating one line to the modem and the rest to the tv's. This is not the identical one I used but very similar.

se-alumMight want to try copying your PC's MAC address to your router. That was the only problem I ever had w/ mine.

What does running DD-WRT do to improve the router?
