Sonic Drive-in... anything good?

  Sonic Drive-in
  
  They opened a Sonic few miles from my house. I don’t do fast food but I have a few favor things at some of them (Wendy fries, dipped in a frosty) (McD fries, dripped in the fish tarter sauce).
  
  So what is good at Sonic?
  
  …I did see they have Chicago Dogs that could be a good thing. Big fan of Hot dogs and Coney’s.

  Their "Happy Hour" drink prices are awesome!
  
  You can mix and match and concoct any sort of drink you could think of (almost, as long as it's alcohol-free).
  
  I do miss Sonic every once in a while. The biggest problem, to me, is the grease -- but what can one expect from a fast food joint?

  Their drinks and Ice Cream are delicious. I dont like all their food, but I love the Chicken Club Toaster on Texas Toast. That is delicious, and they win out a lot of times for my lunch because of their Tater Tots.
  
  The coney dogs...or any of the hot dogs, imo suck. But I only tried them 1 time.

  Best thing about Sonic is the variety of food, it's not just burgers and fries. I admit, I like the chili cheese Frito pie.

  They do have good grilled cheese and cheese sticks. I do like their burgers without all the junk on it. Hot Dogs aren't bad. I love love love their drinks. Limeade's are awesome.

  sonic is without a doubt the worst fast food place in my opinion

  I'll hit the one near Polaris in Columbus on simply because they serve a full menu all day, and are amenable to fixing anything you want. Almost everything taste better on the Texas Toast.
  
  I'm partial to a breakfast sandwich on TT with egg, chili, and onion.

  As many have said, the drinks are awesome. I also love tater tots, and no other fast food places serve them. Their actual food, IMO, is mediocre to bad, and I have found that the location makes a big difference (some just consistently make the food poorly). For example, used to hit the one in Nelsonville every once in awhile, and it was consistently decent. The one in Lancaster has sucked every time I have gone, and I won't go again for food.

  I had Sonic today because I wanted to try one of their hot dogs (the Chicago one). I was disappointed in the dog, but I got french toast sticks too and they were OK.
  
  My gripe about Sonic is the fact that they always fuck up my order. I told a friend of mine they would forget my syrup for my french toast sticks, and sure enough, they did.

  I like everything they sell, and I've had no complaints with the two near me that I've been to(Oregon and Perrysburg locations). I am partial to their breakfast burritos, real fruit slushes, and anything they concoct with ice cream. It is very greasy for my taste, which is why I refrain from going too often, but it's still an excellent haven for comfort food.

  The wife and I cruised in to Sonic yesterday around 7:30, I like the feel of the car hops and the ordering system …. Kinda of the old school drive-inn idea.
  So far even thing was good.
  Looked at the menu very good options.
  As a Hot Dog / Coney fan I ordered the foot long Coney NO CHEESE and the wife got a single burger everything NO CHEESE, fries and just coke.
  Quick and friendly serves …. Order wrong …NO CHEESE must have a different meaning at Sonic … Taking back the Coney and the burger but left the fries .. Stop
  I think not … friendly car hop… I want a new complete order with hot fries and Coney and burger.
  Few minutes later order correct order comes….
  
  Do they intentionally forget the condiments?
  
  Wife: Burger so so would not make any special effort to come back
  I will pass on the foot long Coney ….so-so again had better much better.
  
  We will go back to try the smoothie drinks only…

  I've been to Sonic probably 5 or 6 times and have never had my order messed up. I suppose the one I go to could be an exception to the norm but it is what it is I suppose. The food isn't world changing but to me it's good so whenever I decide to splurge and I am in the area I stop there.

  Hit and miss for me. I had the Russian and New York dogs for lunch on Friday thought they were good. I think my 3rd time at Sonic and the first two were in Nelsonville which has the best Sonic.

  I too am a tator tot fan.
  
  Like others i enjoy their drinks. They have good slushies and smoothies with an assortment of fruity flavors.
