What was the best "Deal" you ever got?

O-TrapA guy at Taco Bell was telling all the people that came through looking tired or grumpy that they'd won something, and they'd just need to claim it once they were done eating (even though he was lying). He said nobody ever came back up, but it seemed to put everyone in a better mood. I remembered, and I went up to ask. He responded by saying that nobody had ever followed up about it, so he said, "Whatever you want to order, however much, is on the house."
I tried not to be too greedy, but I did go overboard. I got 10 chili cheese burritos and three steak quesadillas. He told me that "my total was: absolutely nothing!" After a few minutes, he handed me my bag, and I left. Got back to my dorm room (this was in college), and I began to unpack everything and put it in the fridge. Low and behold, he'd also thrown in like 5 chicken flatbread sandwiches and a couple soft tacos. -
AutomatikI lived 5 months rent free in an amazing apartment in Copenhagen. In return I had to promote for a nightclub, throw in on groceries and clean up after myself.
Best deal ever! -

Speakin' of...another story involving a family member. My uncle got a divorce and in the process, ended up having his home foreclosed on. They had an auction for the home, it was sold, but the owners never came forward to him. He's been living in the house for free for about 9 or 10 years now. All he has to do is pay the property taxes every year. And no...it wasn't a trailer. -

This begs the question...Why did your mom divorce him in the first place? -

That's odd. Do you think they are paying for the property?GoChiefs;722059 wrote: it was sold, but the owners never came forward to him. He's been living in the house for free for about 9 or 10 years now. All he has to do is pay the property taxes every year. -

They have already paid the property off. He received a letter about 4 years ago telling him he had to move because they were going to take his house for not paying property taxes. So, he called the city up and told them the situation, and asked if he could pay the taxes. They said they would have to take that up with the property owners. They tried to get a hold of the property owners, but the company on the deed was no longer in business so they couldn't get a hold of anyone. So they told him as long as he paid the taxes on it, they didn't care what he did. -
thavoiceWow.... he def has a great deal there. May be the winner!!
Keep thinking of more....I had free cable for 11-12 years over two diff apartments. Oh wait, i mean, i thought it was part of my rent. that was my story.
Neighbor a few houses down had cable free for 17 years! Until last december......TWC musta did a sweep in town and I know of 4-5 people who had their cable cut off who were not paying -
BigAppleBuckeyeWebsurfinbird and I went to Shea Stadium when the Mets and Braves were both good, and the game was sold out. Decided to buy the tickets from a scalper, and the first person who approached us just gave us tickets for free. We couldn't believe it, I offered to buy the beer for the entire game, but they just walked away, said they had extras that weren't going to be used. That NEVER happens, especially in New York.

I was at a car wash once and had to get change. I put in a dollar and got $5 back in quarters. I went next door to get singles for everything in my wallet and then kept feeding the machine until it ran out of quarters.
Hillbilly slot machine FTW. -

SpeedofsandI had free cable for 10 years, then I quit working for TimeWarner. Then I had free cable for 7 more years.
I got the house in my divorce.
I got shared primary custody of my daughter in my divorce. (no support)
Target marked down a WeberQ grill from $179 to $79. and I snapped it up quick. That grill has tailgated Gator games, races, and camping for over 10 years. -

She went around the back, handed the guy the receipt, he looked at it, handed it back to her and loaded the swing up in her car. Well, he didn't mark the receipt that it had been picked up. So she stopped by my mom's house, handed my mom the receipt. My mom went to Walmart, and just went straight to the back and handed the guy the receipt. He handed her back the receipt and loaded her car up with the swing. Me and my uncle both got swings for our yards that day too. Yeah, I know, it's wrong. But Walmart sure won't miss that $800.00.
This is a big part of what's wrong with our society. It's OK to steal as long as it's from someone who has more money than you. -
Fab1bNot the greatest deal but funny: My girl, her girlfriend, and I go the fair a couple years ago. We want some funnel cakes so I go the stand and get three. They put the funnel cakes in front of me and I pull out a $20 and reach my arm out, the person just stares at me makes no attempt to take my money. So I say to them, not once but twice are you going to take my money for this? Again no response so I put the $20 back in my pocket grabbed the cakes a walked away and enjoyed the fried goodness! Gotta love those carnies!

justincredibleNot necessarily a deal but not spending the $12 on the huddle and making this place. I'll be a millionaire in no time.

Or don't hire employees that don't give a fuck. -
charliehustle14I bought a platinum watch, platinum bracelet, gold watch, and gold bracelet as a set for $50 in a subway in Washington D.C. Guy was nervous as shit...pretty obvious he had just lifted it but I didn't care. Each of the pieces had individual price tags on them, ranging from $350-$650. When I got home I actually had it looked at and it's definitely legit. I'll sell it whenever I really need money. I obviously won't get what each price tags says but I'll definitely make some good cash off them.
At Rock on the Range a few years ago a guy had a bunch of band and concert shirts in a trash bag. It was the last night so he just wanted to get rid of it all. Said he'd take $20 for it. Pulled out my wallet and all I had was a $5. He ripped the bill out of my hands and dropped the bag at my feet. I'm pretty sure he thought it was a $20, but whatever, I wasn't going to try and chase him down. The shirts were all legit too. I gave a lot away but I still have 5 or 6. -
TBone14A lot of these deals sound a lot like stealing. I got this great deal once. I went to the dressing room and put on a bunch of clothes that didn't have the security tags on them. Threw on my jeans and winter coat and had a whole new wardrobe. What a deal.
