Good to know. This bike doesn't have any mechanical issues, at least none that my uncle mentioned. The only issue I know is that it has a dent on the right side of the gas tank from his wife riding it. For the price a dent doesn't bother me at all, especially if I'm just going to be riding this thing until next year. -

Father in law has a V Star 06 or 07 V Star, he loves it and has had no issues. -
Speedofsandbeat him down on the price because you gotta buy bags and a windshield. The older it is the more problems you buy. If you like a cruiser just save a little more and get a newer one. Look for bike rallies this summer and find local classifieds. There were hundreds of ads here two weeks ago for bike week. That Vstar is still a good looking bike in your pic, just looks like the bags and shield were stolen. You can find good accessories for that model. http://www.jpcycles.com/

justincredibleIn one of the pictures he sent it looks like the bags were sitting next to the bike on the other side so he might have just taken them off. I'm not sure how much lower I can get him to go on price because he's only asking $1000 for it.

justincredibleHere is the other side with the dent and what looks like a bag on the van seat:

justincredibleI'm not super thrilled that it's studded but I can get over that.

mcburg93How much are you wanting to spend? I have a friend that is needing some cash and has a 81 shovelhead. He had it redone a few years ago and looking to sell it for 5500 which is cheap considering all the money he has in it. might take a lot less if its cash in hand.

BigdoggI don't own one now but this was my first one. Back in the day was a fine machine.

Good choice going cheap on your first bike. The money you save will come in handy when then medical bills start rolling in!! -
