Facebook,,,

Use it for fun and communicating with friends/family. Have yet to use it for work, unless you count college stuff like setting up meetings and such on FB work.

I use it a lot for work, and some for personal use as well.

i get on everyday and post maybe every other day. I just use it to keep in conact with family and friends although I'm about to go on a deletion rampage bc I'm tired of some people posting every detail about the lives they lead whether its good or bad and the same people post 6-10 times a day.
And I did "like" OC but it was before the certified letter.

Facebook was money back when you had to have a .edu email addy. It was simple to sell books and network with classmates.

Now I primarily use it for the chat feature and music interests. Its very useful for show dates, new tracks/albums, etc.

One big negative thing is that its a platform for people to show how fucking messed in the head they really are. Before you just wondered if a person was a weirdo, now there is place to express it to the world.

On a side note. Does anyone think the pregnant app thing is weird as hell? I use my hide button often lol

who doesn't use facebook might be the better question..

Pregnant app? Haven't seen that one yet, luckily.

I just feel that as you grow older, it's easy to lose track of friends and family as they move on with their lives, and scatter around the state/country. It's a very good tool to keep in touch with those people. I'm only 30, and it has been very nice to be able to reconnect w/ high school/college friends and especially my cousins out in San Diego that I had very limited contact w/ until Facebook.

I had a friend who didn't even have a cell phone till his senior year in college and didn't have a car either. Also Im pretty sure when he got the cell phone he didn't have texting either.

I do have a facebook and I got it the day my college added facebook in August/September of 04. I use it mostly now for friends/fun.

My sister-in-law uses facebook to lash out at people. Her nickname in the family is psycho. psycho+facebook=entertaining yet uncomfortable posts.

I was at the bar with some people this past weekend, and one of them (a girl mind you) says "We have to check in." I was like WTF? She proceeds to tell me that you can check in, and it shows up on your status and shows people where you are through mapquest or something.

My response: "Nobody give a flying fuck that we are at HRI right now. We are at a bar in a small town having dinner and a few drinks. This is abso-fucking-lutely retarded."
My wife: "But, it's cool to see some restaurants and shops that people go to."
Me: "Then have them tell you about it over the phone. I don't need to know that my cousin out in California is at a new sushi place."

This is why I hate facebook. A lot of people (mostly college students) including myself feel that the site itself was much better when you had to have a .edu email to access it. I remember when it expanded to everyone, I didn't go on it for 4-5 months because I was so tired of it. I go on there probably 2-3 times a day. Once before I go to work because I check all of my emails/messages and once or twice when I get home just because I have nothing better to do.-besides this place.

I hate the people who "need" to check it all of the time. That's the first thing my wife does when she wakes up in the morning, and it pisses me off. The one I hate the most is "We're off to church then lunch." Nobody needs to know that.

Dude, you should make her a regular on Failbook.

I don't see the point in hating something that is optional. If you don't like, don't use it or block the annoying people.

I don't have a FB account but I am heading to the grocery store and then going to the bank to check on a deposit and then dinner at the in-laws. Uugh I'm tired just thinking about my day.

I've got one. I started it to get in touch with my relatives before an upcoming family reunion. Its mainly used now as a place for my OC friends to abuse me...much like here.

I did like the Freehuddle and the OC.

I hear your complaint, and I'll one-up you. A lot of people (mostly people at elite colleges), including me, feel that the site itself was much better when you had to be at an elite college to access it. Letting in the hoi polloi has completely ruined what was once a nice networking tool for the bourgeoisie. Now there are so many low-class proles on it that we members of the intelligentsia are overrun by the rabble.

sometimes I get drunk and post some stupid random shit. Other times, I get drunk and post drunkin shit. Then there are times when I get drunk and can't figure out how to post.

Also, I found that mom has me hid from her news feed...lovely. She says she doesn't need to see a bunch of obscene posts from my friends and drunkin pics that I have been tagged in. She has issues....

I don't have Facebook. I can call, email or text my friends and family. As a college graduate with a job, if you don't have linkedin something is wrong with you.
