Ever been robbed?

  • O-Trap
My parents are in the process of moving to Columbus. Tonight I got a text that their new house in Columbus had the copper piping stripped out of the walls today while they were up in Orrville packing up stuff. They also had their water meter stolen (I thought he said water "heater" at first). Dunno what you could possibly get for that, but hey.

Ever had your place broken into and burglarized?

Yep, got lots of CDs, a scanner, and a Company laptop. This was in 2002, when scanners were going for big bucks. He was nice enought to feed my Mutt though.

Yer old lady was there and she didn't do anything about it?

Well, then again, what was it that he fed her?

I had one car stolen and one van stolen never to be found..... both from shopping malls ... Not a great loss

My house was broken into while my family was sleeping upstairs. I hear a sound and the dog moved to the top of the stairs. I know something was right.
At that point I hear more ..him was scamper out the front garage door side of the house. I had one option in hope to catch him. I run down the stairs straight to the front door .. hoping he would run across the front yard.. he didn't he took off the other way. He stole my wife purse but in the running out of the house he dropped the purse just out side the door. He got nothing

Yep. Few years ago. Didnt get anything that I know of. Someone had been taking loose change, cash and jewelrly, of which I had none.

I knew right when I got home before going in to the apt. I always had the right blinds closed. (the ones closest to the apt complex front door. I got home and it was open. I get upstairs and notice some things knocked over. A couple of things where I kept mostly pennies had been rooted through. "jewelry" box was emptied but there is ntohing in there but an old class rign and keychains.

I noticed a cop had pulled someone over so I went to flag him down. Told him about it....and he did not even get out of his cruiser.

I did some investigated work kinda. I had found out 2 other units in the building were broken into as well. They were on the other side of the front door. At first I thought the person who did this opened the left blind because it was closed to the front door of the complex. When I noticed the others when they were broken into they also had their left blinds open...but that is the one further away from the front door.

I had noticed also of the things that were dumped over, they all were dumped to th left. It led me to believe it was a lefthanded person who did this.

Few weeks later I saw a cop at a Kiwanis meeting and told him about it and this one seemed geniunely interested. He said they were actively looking at leads because 4-5 places nearby had also been broken into and just jewlery and money taken.

I think it was the grandson of the old lady downstairs. He showed up most days around 2-230 after school and was there for an hour most times. Would be a perfect time as teh other three tenants, and neighbors across road, work during the day.

I didnt feel that violated mostly because nothing was stolen, and that i was not home i guess. Dont know if they ever caught the person...but I never did see that kid after these breakins.

That's being burglarized folks. Robbed is when someone steals directly from your physical body or has a weapon at you.

I had one of my shotgun's stolen out of my house once. I figure it had to be someone I knew because there was a lock on it and they knew where the key was. Never found out who did it.

Also from watching similar shows, there is blood and semen on everything and that is the only way crimes are solved.

Semantics, but okay. Several definitions in the dictionary for "rob" express nothing more than the unlawful taking of something from the rightful owner, but I'll concede "burglarized" probably would have been more descriptive.

I kind of got in the middle of an armed robbery a few years ago. I was walking into a Coach outlet in Barstow, dude runs out the doors and plows me over. I get up and give chase (not sure what I thought I was going to do) as he scampers through the parking lot (several purses flopping off each arm). Another dude, who just happened to be arriving for work at the store (had just gotten out of his car) runs up and grabs the guy. Thugboy shakes him off, pulls the gun and points it right at the worker's face. I duck behind a car, still watching. Car pulls up, door flings open, dude hops in and they take off. No plates on the car.

Come to find out he had pulled the gun in the store, spent about a minute grabbing purses, and then bolted (which is where I entered the story).

Got a nice discount for my trouble, even though I really tanked on the police report.

Somebody would always get into my work car. There was nothing in it, because I didn't keep it locked up, just always came out to the glove box and center console open and the contents sitting on the seat. Taped a note to the steering wheel for a couple of weeks that said obviously there isn't anything in this car, so if you're going to go through it, at least put the shit back when your done. Either they haven't been in it since then, or they are now courteous enough to put the stuff back like I asked!
