    they didn't really get the planes crashing, disappointed in that because I had never seen that vantage point before

    I had no appreciation (or at least a recollection) of the amount of dust and smoke. It basically blanketed all of the financial district and completely ensconced 50-story buildings.

    I remember when I was in high school, my friends and I went atop the World Trade Center. I am not scared of heights, but being on that roof -- with the buildings swaying a bit, and only a thin guard rail and about 20-25 feet between you and the edge -- was downright petrifying. I can't imagine what those pour souls went through in (obviously) much, much worse conditions. Rest in Peace ... wow.
