What are some good restaurans that are easy to get into?
All character meals are booked. We tried every place that has them, and cannot get a reservation to any of them.

I didn't read through all of the responses, so someone may have mentioned this. When we stayed at a Disney resort, they opened the park an hour early for only resort guests. We actually got there about 15 minutes before the early opening, got right in, and literally walked up and boarded rides until about 1030a (I want to say we got there at 645a). Closer you get to midday, the longer the lines are. We left and did lunch, the pool, all that stuff til late afternoon and by then all the other kids were wearing out and tired of the lines so it started slacking off again. Never waited more than 15 minutes for any ride (save the fast pass for the most popular rides if you don't get to them early) .

Charater meals are hard to get into, there are some resteraunts you can do that they come to that you do not need a reservation for. Go to the disney website at the bottom of the page there is link for FAQ (Mom's Panel Advice)I believe where MOMS have asked and answered about all questions to those meals. There is one at Magic Kingdom I don't think you need a reservation for that is a buffet style meal, you go there for a late breakfast. and all the charactors are in and out for the between breakfast and lunch meal. the details are in the FAQ

There sure are alot of Disney veterens out there.....I'm impressed.
I was not all that impressed with Universal Studios. It was ok, but my kids enjoyed the "FREE" beach at Daytona much more. Of course, so did I....The views were fantastic.

    It's Hammertime!

When are you going ? How many days ? Where are you staying ? Is it you the spouse and a teen ? Flying or driving ?
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is this month. Nice for all ages. The teen might like DisneyQuest. A video game arcade with virtual games and a couple of cool rides. One is like bumpercars that you run over rubber balls and shoot them out of a cannon at other cars. The other is my all time favorite ride, CyberSpace Mountain rollercoaster. You choose sections of tracks to design your own ride, then get in a capsule like a VW bug to ride it. You can make it mild to wild with spins, loops, more than a real coaster can do. DisneyQuest is at Downtown Disney. If its nice enough to hit a waterpark there are 2. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. BB has more rides, TL is very sandy with lush tropical foliage everywhere and you can snorkel in a salt water pool with sharks.
There are so many things to do, you have to think about what you want and you can find it there.
I also like the Boardwalk. ESPN Club, Wyland Art Gallery, and a brewery that was good.
For just the major parks, I've never been to the Animal Kingdom, but I heard when they first opened the best time to go is early morning, the animals were more active then. Epcot rocks, go on Soarin' , try to get a reservation in the Mexico dining, its a huge building on the left of the lake as you go into world village. Unbelievable atmosphere, like you are in Mexico under the stars, but you are indoors. The fireworks/laser light show is great too. Close a night there and in the Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Parade and fireworks from the balcony of the train station at the end of Main St., unless the giant Christmas tree is in the way.

As I said before...there are a lot of things to do, and checking out the websites that 'speedo' posted is a good way to start planning. We are vacation club members and are at Disney at least once a year. Even at that we continue to discover new things.
As far as restaraunts go, I'm not a big fan of the ones at Epcot, but others just rave about them. The resort restaraunts are better IMO...Ohani's at the Polynesian, Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge are my favorites. My Brother in law raves about the restarunt at the Contemporary, but I've never been there...yet. You can check out the menus online.

We just got back last Friday. Thanksgiving was crazy down there. I would suggest O'hana for dinner. Also liked the Biergarten in Epcot. PM me if you have specific questions.
