Dropping my kid off for a launch party(ghey) at 9 tonight. Have to pick him up at midnight and sign for it since he is underage. -
RotinajUr son sounds like a good kid. To bad his dads a douchebag. You should work on that.

I am attending an anti-douchebaggery class in the evenings....it isn't helping though -
RotinajBy evenings you mean every evening right? Just give it a year or 10. I'm sure you'll get through it.
-
hoops23Anybody picking it up at midnight? No work for me until 10:30 am, so I'll be playing for a bit tonight.

I ordered mine for release day delivery from Amazon, now have to go to Largo, Florida for work tomorrow! Wont be able to play until Thursday night unless it comes before 11 tomorrow. -
se-alumNot really anything to do with the game itself, but I think the commercial for it is tasteless. Comparing Kobe and Jimmy Kimmel to real soldiers, saying "There's a Soldier in all of Us" is ridiculous. I realize it's just an ad campaign, but have a little more respect for our REAL soldiers.
-
I Wear PantsIt isn't comparing them to real soldiers. Good lord, it's just putting the players body in for the character model. Showing that moms, nurses, kids, and NBA stars alike all play Black Ops. That's what the campaign is for.
Also, not real excited for this. I haven't liked the last two CoD games except for the Zombie mode. -

The gamestop in philly is packed...dropped my kid off for the launch party a little bit ago -

oh whatever dude, it's a game...it's not meant literally -

My buddies and myself went to the one here in town... Our mall has two gamestops about 50 feet apart from another.
The one we preordered from was PACKED as shit. Took about an hour to get the game..
The other Gamestop? DEAD. And of course, you can't switch preorders between stores.. SMH.
It was a pretty entertaining hour though, I'll give it that. -
I Wear PantsIf you shop at Gamestop you're an idiot. Flat out.
-
darbypitcher22how is it? any reviews so far? online play?
-
Gblockpicking mine up after work today hopefully
-
RotinajHavent read much about it(or really even attempted 2) but im going up to Best Buy around 10 to get it.
-
McFly1955People seem to be liking it from the message boards I read....
They basically are saying it's a lot less chaotic, and more like the old school shooters (like COD2 perhaps). Not as many airstrikes and crazy things going on, guns are more equal (no stopping power)...People seem to be loving the wager modes.
My copy is at home and I haven't had a chance to play yet, but now that the baby is sleeping through the night (as of last week) I will get to play tonight from 10 - 1am or so....woot. -
j_crazyI'm getting on tonight, I'll probably play through the campaign a litle before hopping on to get my ass beat online.

I traded in two games (Mafia II and Madden 2011) that I hadn't touched in WEEKS. I got about $65 for them, which means I picked up COD for free.
If I'm an idiot for saving 60 bucks, then so be it! LOL
As for the game, it's great. Better than MW2 and W@W, imo. Takes me back to the fun I had while playing COD4. -
McFly1955Could have traded in Mafia 2 and Madden to amazon for $50, bought Black Ops on amazon for $59.99 (no tax) and received a $20 credit for a future game on Amazon
But that would have required more work and the actual savings would be when (if) you bought a game on Amazon within the next year (expiration of $20 credit), so not a bad deal whatcha did there in my opinion.
In general, I do agree that Gamestop sucks and better deals can be had online on almost every game release. -
TedShecklerI'm not a console gamer, but I hope they do this for PC.

I hate gamestop because you could have gotten $80 for those easily online. They rape you with trade in prices. I rarely buy new gales but when I do I stay away from them. -

We only did the gamestop thing because my son wanted to go to their launch party with a couple of friends. Typically, we buy from amazon or other online sites.
