2009 VGA "Game of the The Year" : Uncharted 2

  Love the single player, but not a fan of the multiplayer.
  
  Side note: God of War 3 will be game of the year this year......book it. The demo is awesome.

  It will definitely be a contender.
  
  Other games to look out for:
  Heavy Rain (PS3)
  Mass Effect 2
  Bioshock 2
  Halo Reach (even though I don't like Halo)
  
  and my sleeper - most anticipated game of the year for me ------ 'Brink' by Bethesda (Oblivion, FAllout 3)....It looks like a mixture of Team Fortrees, Modern Warfare 2, and Mirrors Edge.... Can't wait for this one...

  I actually loved the SP and the MP.
  
  I think GOD3 will win GOY hands down, only thing hurting it is being released early in the year...

  Bad company was a decent single player game but the multiplayer sucked. It takes way to many shots to kill a person and got boring after a few days

  Played Uncharted 2 the other day with a friend. I think it falls into the general reviewer trap of being overrated because of its presentation. It's a great game that I loved, but there were a few dull stretches (like the first part of the city temple and ice cave temple where you're just running and running with the occasional leap/grab thrown in) and the fact that nearly every single thing you did got you a new checkpoint kinda killed the challenge factor. I'm torn between 8/10 or 9/10 at the moment.
